Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 92Relaxing in wine country
I've stayed at the Fountaingrove Inn before so this was no surprise. This hotel is quiet, clean, stylish and located right off of Highway 101. From the Fountaingrove Inn it is a short(5 min.) drive to downtown Santa Rosa. I love that area and there are plenty of dining options. In addition you can always eat at the Equus restaurant which is a part of the Fountaingrove Inn. The food is nothing spectacular but is very good nonetheless. I look forward to staying there again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 92Top Value - Quality and Service
Hotel is easy access to Hwy 101, clean, well furnished, comfortable, great staff, excellent restaurant on site. This was a great value for the price. We will stay here again.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 92Interesting combination
Interesting place. The outside looks like a motor lodge, with parking in front. Lobby looks like an upscale Inn. Rooms are clean and pleasant. Restaurant is pricey, and perhaps a bit too upscale for the rest of the establishment. Bar seems to be a hangout for locals, especially during happy hour. There isn't a lot nearby, but it's a good location for getting into downtown or on the freeway.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 92Comfortable Stay in a Great Location
We stayed at the Fountain Grove for a wedding that was happening in Glen Ellen. Our check in was friendly and fast and the woman at the desk enthusiastically provided us with a map of the area and some ideas for sightseeing the next day. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was low - but it still got the shampoo out. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms are a little dark (ours was anyway) but everything else is so comfortable you don't really care. The restaurant served us the best french toast I've ever had and the service there on the two days that we dined in was really friendly. The location is right in the middle of wine country and perfect for a weekend of tastings.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 92Good Hotel
Overall a great place to stay. The one complaint my wife had was that there was no full length mirror in the room and to women getting ready for a wedding, inexcusable. There were tell tale signs that one had been mounted to the wall before. I mentioned this to the desk clerk but she was at a loss to explain what happened.

Rate quite high for the current economy.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 11 of 92Needs Improvement
Terrific restaurant, but expensive! Remainder was a disappointment. Spa was broken, coffee pot in the room leaked and was broken, original room (moved) reeked of tobacco (non-smoking hotel?), view outside my window was of a hillside 4 (four) feet away. Should have stayed at the Hilton next door for less money.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 12 of 92Somewhat disappointed
My husband and I have stayed at the Fountaingrove many times before and we felt that the property isn't being maintained as well. Several things in the room needed maintained. There were no cookies served in the afternoon (which we were told because of the recession), no bottled water in the room, towels were more worn, the makeup mirror was crooked and looked as if it was ready to fall off the wall, wall plate around the plug in the BR was loose and the kleenex box and garbage can were well worn and needed replaced. The ridges in the frame of the mirror in the BR were very dusty. The TV was so small that it was difficult to see from the bed. When we asked we were told they had trouble with the large TV's and were buying smaller ones. They did offer to move us to a room with one of the older tV's but that was too inconvenient. I do hope they can get back to the elegant hotel it once was.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 92Close enough to Healdsburg and Wine Country
We chose a junior suite and it was very nicely appointed and spacious. Everything was lovely for us, but for light sleepers you might want to ask for a junior suite that is not across the hall from the ice machine because the machine is not in an enclosed space. It didn't bother us at all but people who need quiet would probably wake with a start once the ice cubes tumble. In general, we were surprised at the quality of this hotel for the price. It is just a few miles from Healdsburg where we finished our day with a great dinner. We only needed a one-night stay and this was perfect. We didn't try the restaurant.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 92Great Hotel for the Price - But Very Dated
The room was nice and clean. The service was also great, HOWEVER, this hotel needs a facelift. The room itself was very comfortable and very well priced.
