Best Western Carolinian Beach Resort

Great Stay

We stayed at the Carolinian this past week for the Fall Bike Rally and while most places in Myrtle beach as trying to get rid of biker's the Carolinian made us feel welcome and were glad to have us as their guest.

The room we stayed in was great for the money we paid. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Great View

Downside: The room key deactivates very easily, and I find it very hard to believe that sitting next to my lip gloss when my cell phone was on the complete opposite side of my purse would deactivate that. The hallways have a funny smell, and I can't quite place what it is. Make sure your room has all the stuff in the kitchen when you get there, they have a nice little price list if you decide you like their stuff that they will charge you with, we did not have a coffee maker in our room. Finally the Pillows are really really really unconfortable, I recommend bringing your own from home. Upside: In a very nice location. Can walk to good resturants on 21st. Not a far drive from Broadway at the Beach. The staff was very helpful if you need them.

Okay Hotel. Wouldn't pay full price, and don't expect anything extra.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Best Western Carolinian and we had a similar yet different experience than the last time. When we went this time we were expecting that the housekeeping staff would be rather unhelpful, and that the room would be very clean and bright and cheery like the last time. We had a King size ocean view room the last time and two queen ocean front room this time, with a little kitchen. I have to say that I would've preferred the room we had last time, to our ocean front accomadation. The room was very humid, making the air feel very heavy. This in turn caused their to be quite a bit of mildew build up in the bathroom. Upon arrival we went immediately to the balcony to check out the view. On the floor there was a big ball of cigarette butts that had come out of a knocked over plastic cup. The front desk sent someone up to clean it, but it showed me that the house cleaning crews are not very thurough. We also found the bathrooms to be less than sanitary. They had great features, and the bathroom wouldn't have been a concern at all had it been cleaned properly. With one exception, the last time we were here we were on the 8th floor and the water pressure was terrible, as well as the temperature would go from extreme hot to extreme cold. This time the water temperature was fine and consistent, but the water pressure was so extreme it almost stung. Really not enjoyable if you have a sunburn. The last time we were here, we stayed for 5 days and had no maid service the entire time (even after asking), and the front desk was rather unhelpful. This time was completely the opposite, and even our tiniest random requests were met. We had forgotten forks, and had none in our room, and they came right up and brought us two forks. It would've been nice if the hotel would've had them in our rooms already (especially considering we had a refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave), but were happy they were so prompt in helping us. Outstanding Hotel

Great place RIGHT ON THE BEACH - helpful staff (gave us directions to attractions and coupons), clean, excellent rate, great view. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but for a quick trip to the beach it was all we needed/wanted. I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend the hotel to others.

Checked in, didn't have the room I reserved, went to the desk, staff was awesome, upgraded me with no problem, super nice!

Nice location on the beach.

I thought the price was a little high and there is minimum parking and in this area of Myrtle Beach they do not hesitate to tow your vehicle! The room itself was nice and the staff were very helpful and always pleasant!!

Great hotel in excellent location

Traveled with college friends, stayed in an ocean-front room with a balcony. We loved the view and being practically on top of the ocean. The room exceeded our expectations and the staff service was very good. The only drawback was no continental breakfast.

Great Stay

I felt like this hotel was a great stay for the money. We had a one bedroom suite and felt like it was like an apartment. Everything you could want was available. Views were great. The pools and lazy river were clean and maintained. This hotel also had convenient access to the beach and was a short walk to food and other activities.

Outstanding

I really enjoyed the stay here. Everything was in order, and we wanted for nothing. We will be back..

Wonderful Experience

The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. I had no problems during my stay and the view of the beach was perfect. The hotel was also in walking distance of some really great resturants and shops. I wouldn't mind revisiting the same hotel on my next trip.
