enjoyed my stayed

we had a great time the room was clean and comfortable all the appliances worked the staff were plesant and helpful the 2 pools and the lazy river were clean and alot of fun the view of the ocean was amazing

A decent hotel for the right price...

The Best Western offered a decent room for the price I paid. The room was clean and neat. I requested an ocean view room and it was granted. The hotel is right off the beach so it was an easy walk during the day and when we were in the room at night, we kept the terrace door open to hear the ocean. We had a great vacation overall. The only warning is the valet parking. It was at a cost of 8 dollars per day, however, there was only 1 valet guy so some days, out of frustration, we got our car ourselves.

nice room

this hotel provided an well kept room with comfortable beds and a nice balcony to view the ocean. There are plenty of restaurants available within walking distance.

Great Value and Prompt, Eager Service

For the price we paid, all we were hoping for or expecting was a basic, clean room, but what we received for our money was a courteous staff who were intent on satisfying us and providing service well beyond what a regular visitor to beach-front hotels comes to expect. Far from the, "There's the beach; what more do you want?" attitude found at so many other Myrtle Beach hotels, the Best Western Carolinian is a stand-out, both in quality of staff and cleanliness. And the location is perfect, just a few blocks north of the heart of everything, close enough to walk everywhere, but just far enough from the Grand Strand to keep things quiet at night. Best value for a beach front room (and oh, what a view!) we have ever received.

Nice Hotel, Wouldn't Pay Any More For It Though

We stayed in an oceanview efficiency room for a weekend two weeks before Memorial Day weekend, so the rates were pretty reasonable. The room smelled damp/moldy, but after opening the balcony door and running the AC it was fine. The beds were comfortable and they had decent TV channels. The hotel is right on the beach, which is great, but we had to drive to get to the 'boardwalk' type of area to eat and wander. Our phone didn't work, but the front desk was very nice and helpful getting it back up and running and helping us order food (the reason we needed our phone). One thing we didn't like is we were put on the second floor, so our balcony was literally about 10 feet above the pool area, giving us little to no privacy on our balcony or in our room during the day. Anyone on the pool deck could see us or even talk to us while we were on our balcony and they could see in the room if we didnt draw the curtains, blocking out all sunlight. Overall, the hotel was great for the price we paid however I would not pay the increased prices posted to go Memorial Day weekend or after (we checked to see if we should return for another weekend, but the price of the hotel now is too high for the hotel quality).

i loved the view my room had and the space of the suite plus it was minute from everthing which was a great plus

Needs lots of improvement

I was not happy with the quality of the room. It was just me and my husband. The room was so small that we could barely move around in. The bathroom was huge but the urnial did not want to flush. It was a total disaster staying there. The room that we were in was too pricy for what i paid.

Staff was really nice and hard working.

It was a good place to stay,the staff of this hotel really did their job.I would stay there again.

Satisfactory Is What I'd Say

Visually Beautiful, Nice Face-Lift (recently renovated), Overall pretty nice experience. Although, check in took nearly 40 minutes and the staff shows very little urgency (also quite robotic). The pool was pretty small... we were hoping for something bigger. Dim lighting in the bathroom and very bad water pressure. I personlly will try a different location next time I visit Myrtle Beach but if you're not "picky" it is very doable.

Big Disappointment

We arrived on time for check-in to have to wait an additional hour and 15 minutes to get our room key. No apologies or explanations offered. Locks were broken in both rooms we rented. Water pressure in shower was weak. The television reception was bad. Housekeeping did not show up once to clean room. Hotel seemed greatly understaffed and unwilling to respond to guest needs. Truly disappointing.

Expected Better

The Good: Nice beach view, good location. The Bad: Horrible service... we tried calling the front desk every night for a wake up call and they only answered 1 out of 5 nights. The housekeeping service came at 8AM when we were just waking up and came back at 4PM when we were getting ready to go out for the night. So we basically didn't get any housekeeping during out stay. There was a friendly family of cockroaches living right next to the jacuzzi. Our room door wouldn't close unless you slammed it and woke up the neighbors. The indoor pool was always freezing cold, thankfully it was right next to the jacuzzi. We were also a little disappointed with the lack of entertainment at the resort. The previous resorts we stayed at offered a beach side bar, ice cream, karaoke, etc. This resort offers none of that except for an Italian Ice stand. Parking gets a little annoying as well because the parking deck is located 2 blocks away from the hotel. And lastly, the showers are WEAK and only have 2 settings... ice cold and boiling hot. Besides all that, we had a blast in Myrtle Beach!
