The Four Seasons Hotel, Chicago, is currently undergoing a renovation, and my husband and I were extremely unimpressed with the results. Both of us have stayed at the Four Seasons for business before we moved to the Chicago area and we loved it, so it was our first choice when we decided to stay downtown to celebrate my husband's birthday. In our opinion, the new decor of the hotel is cold and uniteresting, as opposed to the traditional and elegant hotel it used to be. Add to that the fact that we had to wait for our room to be ready, even though we arrived 30 minutes after official check-in time, and the fact that the shower was totally inadequate, as well as dangerous (the water got VERY hot and there was no temperature guage on the shower) and we were quite dissatisfied with the whole expensive experience.
