We are from Dallas area and frequently stay at local hotels for something different to do. Grand Hyatt was an excellent deal through hotels.com. We had a runway view room and the planes were cool to watch and the soundproofing made them almost totally quiet, with the exception of some big ones that you could barely hear. The other side rooms overlook the rest of airport with a nice view of downtown dallas. The room was a regular king. The bathroom was exceptional with separate tub and walk in shower. Robes, extra pillows, blanket, etc were provided in closet. The bed was very comfortable, not too firm or too soft. The room decor was very nice. Cool dimmable desk lamp, mini bar, combo clock/ipod docking station, comfy chairs. The only downside was the a/c unit. It was a cold night and room was 64 degrees on arrival, so we switched on heat, and all that blew was cold air, very noisy too, but room did warm up just from ambience and sun through window. We just turned it off. The "low" setting was ok and would probably keep it cool in summer. The rooftop pool area was very nice and the gym was exceptional, well maintained, very nice equipment with built in tv's on treadmills, free weights, skiers, towels, headphones, etc. And a great view up there. The lobby bar had some interesting and not too expensive food choices (satay's, quesadilla's, etc.). But the restaurant is *very* expensive (probably $120+ for two with tip). We decided to get a visitor pass to terminal D that the hotel provides, so you can go through security without a boarding pass. The way it works is hotel calls DFW airport police officer, who checks your drivers license, calls in your name, fills out a form and gives it to you to present at security. You stand in line with the travelers to go through security BUT as soon as they see your visitor pass, they take you aside and do a full pat down on you and an explosives test on your shoes, so it is slower and more intrusive than usual. If line is sho
