Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 11Outstanding place to stay
Maui is an island so it is naturally humid. As we entered into the room for the very first time, we thought it was sticky and smelly. Soon after we had AC on at a full blast, the smell became a thing of the past. The bedding was firm and comfortable. Everything in the room worked and it became very comfortable. Since the place located right in the Royal Lahaina Resort, we had all of the accommodations that the resort has to offer. Royal Lahaina Resort even checked us in and out. How nice! The Kaanapali beach was less than 50 feet of reach and was just beautiful. In comparison with folks who stayed at the resort for the price range of $200 and above, we had no complaints whatsoever for what we had paid and got all the amenities of the resort. The only thing that I experienced that was on a lesser side was the kitchenette facility; tiny refrigerator, tiny sink, tiny counter-top and tiny coffee maker. Since we ate out or ordered the food for the most part of our stay, we did not have to miss any full kitchen facility anyways so we didn't mind the limited kitchen space in the room. We had a family of 5 (all grown teenage children) and enjoyed every bit of our 1-week stay at the Kaanapali Ocean Inn. Highly recommended. Hotels.com was so great for offering such a nice place in Maui. Royal Lahaina Resort hosted the Luau every night and we watched it every night for free right from our balcony until we got sick of it. Come and stay here if you want to save money and enjoy MAUI anyway you can and want.

The hotel is part of a much larger resort. It is tucked away in the corner and you have to go to the big resort to check in. Which the signs are unclear. When you register the ladies at the front desk were very nice, however, the bellman was not once he found out we were in a different area. The room was clean, but just runned down. The top railing to the balcony was loose. They used top sheets for the fitted bottom sheets. It was for one night and the price was right.

the website for this hotel is very misleading... we thought we were going ot be in the main hotel instead we were in a another building. it was an older building. housekeeping was horrible. i called for housekeeping to come back that the room was not clean, the mirrors were dirty, the counter had sand on it for two days. House keeping did not come back to clean the room. The base boards and door frames looked like they had never been dusted. the sliding door that went out to the balcony was very hard to open! parking was horrible! this was the worst hotel stay ever!!!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 11Excellent, BUT needs Internet Access ....
We had great time here, the hotel was clean and very comfortable, but the problem we had it eas just like all the other people said. NO internet access unless your room located in the main building. Come on Royal Lahaina... Get few routers and put them on these bungalows, it's only $34.00/piece

The room matched its 2 star rating, but was clean and comfortable. Having full access to the Royal Lahaina Resort property allowed us to have a meal at the restaurant while watching an unbelievable sunset, enjoy live Hawaiian music (with a hula dancer) and make use of the pool and beach facilities. The staff was very courteous and responsive. They promptly delivered our missing TV remote to our room and even upgraded our room to an ocean view just for asking. While on vacation, we generally use our hotel room for sleeping, showering and storing our stuff. As a home base for exploring what the area had to offer, this hotel more than met our needs.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 11Tired but nice
Located 1 mile away from the hotels packing Kaanapali beach this hotel, while older, is an overlooked option. 3 stories tall, but no elevator. The balaconies look over the luai or beach and ocean views are good, even from the non ocean side. The beach access is less than 100 feet away and not crowded, as most people are over at Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach or the Whalers Village. Small, outdated bathroom and older furniture, this hotel has seen the years, but the location makes up for it. Who goes to Maui to stay in the room all day? The hotel is adjacent to the Royal Lahaina Hotel, a much nice highrise. Easy access to activities and an on site luai, if you want. Shuttle service runs back to Kaanapali beach area if needed. I set my daughter up her while my wife and I stayed at the Westin @ 1 mile away. I would recommend it again, for a lower cost option, if needed.

We were treated very good, got a great upgrade due to remodeling. The room we got was really good but will be next for remodeling. They do have rooms that have already been remodeled. This is a very nice resort

The hotel itself was beautiful, but the "Ocean Inn" is actually another building on the property, which some of the hotel staff didn't know and sent us all over looking for another hotel. This part of the hotel is shabby, run down, the doors need painting, and the bathroom looks like a closet, has a sliding door that doesn't close all the way, and the floor has that orange stuff on it that they must not be able to get clean. It had only a shower, no bath, which was ok because we didn't want to spend any more time than we had to in it. We asked for a hotel on the beach, and it was right on the beach which was nice.
