Da Hyatt at Waikiki was da best ...

We initially reserved a room with a mountain/city view; but when we got there they gave us room next to the elevator and it was very noisy, my wife n I could not sleep ... we complained the next day and they moved us to a larger room with a ocean/city view ... wow, it was excellent ... the staff was very nice and apologetic for the inconvenience ... they came thru for us big time ... its probably the best place that weve stayed at in Hawaii ... Mahalo!!!

Great location and service

We liked this hotel a lot. We got a great room rate, and the concierge service was very good. It is conveniently located right across the street from Waikiki, and the hotel provides free towels and beach chairs for hotel guests to use on the beach. Also, the hotel has a snack bar on the beach, and the food prices there were very reasonable. Only down side was the self parking rate in the garage was $28 a day (can't imagine what it would cost for valet parking)! Also, go through the concierge to rent a car if you haven't already reserved one before you get to the hotel. The onsite car rental companies are much more expensive, and the rental car companies "offsite" are really close and will pick you up at the hotel.

Great view, good service, dated look, poor restaurants, hotel needs improvement

Great view ... hard to beat the Pacific ocean, good service ... after reserving two deluxe non-smoking rooms they finally delivered after two attempts to put us in a smoking room, poor restaurants ... forgot about us after we checked in for our reservation, hotel needs improvement ... it appears to me like a 1960 Las Vegas hotel that has not been updated. I have been to Hyatt Regency Resorts before and this does not rank up there. Spend you hard earned money somewhere else.

Good Hotel

Hotel was well above average but the tours (2) we took from the tour desk in the Hotel were below what I had previously had from other hotels, if I were Hyatt I would look into another company to represent. It was just slightly above getting a taxi cab to sites. I will use Grayline or AAA in whatever city or country I visit in the future. I have found then to be most reliable and of good quality in most US cities and also a few forgien countries.

Best hotel I've ever stayed in!

I Loved this hotel. Staff is Excellent, hotel is superb, my new favorite in Waikiki. Clean, spacious rooms, beds are to die for. views are perfect, location is the best and the amenities were even great. the pool and hottub overlook Waikiki Beach. I would stay here over and over again and would definately recommend it to friends and associates. I took my mom to Oahu on vacation and we were upgraded to a penthouse suite with 4 oceanview balconies, 2 huge bedrooms and the best and biggest bathrooms i've ever seen in a hotel room. even came with binoculars on a tripod! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOTEL!

Great place to stay at Waikiki

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff is friendly, the hotel was in outstanding condition and very clean. The breakfasts were the best we every had. Only warning for taller people: the two double beds are more like two twin beds, and the hotel helped us out (being taller people) with a roll away. Otherwise... place is flawless and right across the street from the beach.

Needs Improvement

No longer a 4 Star Property. Years ago it was it has gone down. The staff were helpful and the room clean. The Hotel itself is old and the Rooms need to be refurbished completely. We found roaches. The food in the restaurants was excellent however the wait for services was sometimes over 35 minutes.

Upgraded room - still disappointed - roaches -shower broken.

Even after upgrading our rooms at an additional cost, we were still unhappy. First day there was a roach in our room and the shower was broken badly. Service in the restaurants was very slow. Took 45 minutes to have a waiter even place a setup on the table. Although the food was good. Concierge was not knowledgeable about the hotel and what services it provides. Bell Services was excellent.
