Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 5Nice Hotel but Not Quite Luxurious
This hotel did a nice job with customer service and the public areas were very nice. Our room had nice touches but clearly was past due for some general maintenance. Little things like chunks of wood torn out of the door frame in the bathroom and pictures that weren't centered in the matte in the frame just didn't make it feel quite like the luxury we had hoped for. Stepping outside our room made the experience much better. Our kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It was definitely worth what we paid through Hotels.com, but wouldn't recommend paying anywhere near rack rate for our room.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 5TIred, worn rooms
We had two rooms, both of which were in very poor shape - extensive mold in shower, worn carpets, shabby dustskirts on bed, etc. This was not up to Fairmont standards. We were extremely disappointed after spending a week in lovely rooms at the Fairmont Lake Louise.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 5Dated, tired hotel
This is a tired hotel in a beautiful building. Does not live up to Fairmont standards. Baths were dated and shower tiles moldy in our 2 rooms. Very disappointed.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 5Renovated rooms very nice, others somewhat dated
Overall a good value, I would stay here again for what I paid. Feels like a grand old hotel, marble lobby with high ceilings etc. I stayed for 2 nights within a week in different rooms. In one case I stayed in an unrenovated room which was a little dated - red carped that looked a little worn and ugly curtains. But it was very clean and comfortable. The second night I stayed in one of the renovated rooms (apparently only the 2nd & 3rd floor have been renovated). This was more updated - flat panel TV, new carpet, nicer shower. I liked this room more. Not a lot going on in downtown Calgary, so you'll be disappointed if you expect to be in the center of the action being downtown.
