Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 144Enjoyable Hotel Stay
We enjoyed our five night stay at the Silversmith. This is an historic early Arts & Crafts style hotel that has been upgraded, but still has a breath of the past. The rooms are pleasant, very clean and well maintained. Ada's Restaurant is good food reasonably priced, and open all day.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 144Awful Staff
The staff at this hotel is the worst. They seem completely bothered by any kind of request. "Is there anything to do in the neighborhood?" "Nahhh!" The front desk clerk was a total waste of time and oxygen.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 144Fine but the EL is noisy
Basically, a very nice hotel for the money, but the noise of the elevated train is really hard to ignore when you're trying to sleep. Maybe they could invest in soundproofing for the rooms that face Wabash? Other than that, everything was fine.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 144Could be noisy
My room was great and quiet since I wasn't on the side with the Chicago Loop train

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 144Good location, can't beat the value.
The comments preceding mine are dead-on. Convenient location with access outside the hotel to the L, very affordable, and a very spacious room. Would recommend getting a room at the back of the hotel with the L running along the front.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 144Great for the rate
For what we paid, you can't beat the location. The room was decent sized and had a large bathroom. My only complaints would be that the walls are terribly thin. Every morning, we were awoken by people walking down the hallway.
