Outstanding Hotel

Our stay at The Ocean Suites could not have been any better. The staff is wonderful, the rooms were clean and the first thing I noticed when opening the door of our room was the smell...so clean. I am the type of person who brings her own cleaning supplies to use in the bathroom before we use it but at The Ocean Suites there was no need. I plan on making The Ocean Suites our hotel at Virginia Beach every year from now on.

Good Value Off-season

Stayed with my fiance for 3 days in April 2009 and had a blast. We simply needed to disappear from our hometown for a few days and this hotel met our needs for the most part. The oceanfront balcony was the biggest attraction as we drank wine and read books while listening to the ocean. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars located nearby. The beds and pillows weren't the most comfortable, but the kitchen area was a nice touch that many places situated on the ocean do not provide for such a decent price. The hotel and surrounding areas were under construction which meant we could not sleep in as well as we wished, but overall the experience was absolutely worth the price (during the off-season).

Great for a two person getaway

Rooms were a bit small, but very clean. Great for two people, not sure about any more than that. The location was fantastic, plenty of shops and restaurants very close, also it is right on the beach. The outside of the hotel is a little under disrepair, but they are repairing that, also the pool is not under operation as of yet. I also enjoyed the fact that there was covered parking.

Great suite for the money

Great suite - bedroom separate from living/kitchen area! We had PLENTY of room, but it was just 2 of us, altho I think plenty of room for at least 4. The hotel location was A#1 so you can walk to nearly anything you'd want to do. Va Beach City has gone ALL OUT on paying for entertainment on every block so that you can walk around and find something that interests you no matter what you like -- and they won't take tips! The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating, trying to make our stay very comfortable. Would definitely recommend, and would LOVE to go back next year!

Great Value!

I go to the Neptune Festival every year and this is the first time I've stayed at Ocean Suites. Overall it was a great value for what I paid. The lobby (if you can call it that) was tiny and run down and there is only one elevator which smelled funny. The room itself was wonderful. There was a living room/kitchen area with an ocean front balcony (with 2 chairs). The bathroom looked brand new and was nice & clean. The bedroom was just OK. I had requested a queen bed and got two double beds instead. With both beds in there it was a tight squeeze (both beds are pushed right up against the walls with a small aisle between them. The bed itself was not very comfortable. The whole suite was clean and the furnishings looked new. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was really comfortable and clean. I was very pleased with the room and the staff at the hotel.

Perfect trip

We could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Suites. Having a full suite with kitchen, TV's, bedroom, etc. right on the waterfront for such a good rate was more than we could have asked for. The room was newly renovated and very clean. We had an issue with the sliding glass door, but the maintenance crew came up to our room within minutes and took care of it. They and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. Some parts of the hotel (e.g. the elevator) do look a bit rundown, however, the convenience and quality of the rooms made up for it. We were able to literally go from our room, down the elevator, and down a walkway right onto one of the nicest parts of the beach in my opinion. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for a nice clean room on the beach for a good rate without all the frills (e.g. no big fancy fitness center, but who needs that when the beach/boardwalk is right outside)?!
