Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 8Great Suites
This was my second stay at the hotel in off-season. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only issues I had were circumstantial. There was a nosiy neighbor the first night, a marathon that trapped me in the parking lot the second day, and a lock jam which locked me out of my room the third day. The staff were extemely helpful throughout all these issues.

The hotel has been refurbished, but they did a pretty good job. The towels in my room were as nice as the Marriotts. The bed spread was polyester, but at least it was relatively new, no stains/burns or tears. When you consider the price, it is a great deal. The beds were up against the walls, but the bedroom fit two full size beds, and you can shut the bedroom door to get complete darkness if you are a day time napper. I normally stay at full service Marriotts and Hiltons, but when I am paying, I'll stay at Ocean Suites again!

It was nice to have a mini-suite with a kitchen right on the oceanfront, for such a low price. The housekeeping service was not the greatest - they didn't come every day and didn't clean very well when they did come - but the overall condition of the room was pretty good.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 8Great place for the money
My wife and kids needed to stay in Virginia Beach for a couple of days for business/vacation. The hotel and room was decent for the price. The room had a nice 2 burner stove and full frig with a sink. The rooms were clean, but the floor needed a good mopping because our socks turned black. Overall, for the rate we paid, it could not be beat. Would stay there again.

The photo shows the positives of the room, but our suite was small, run down with bedding that needs to be thoroughly cleaned (if not thrown out). There were some updates like the TV, countertops that made the room a good value for the money and comfortable, but the beds, bedding, etc. was gross. The neighborhood was a bit loud, but the location on the water was nice. To have a suite for the price we paid in season was nice, but more updates are needed

Although this hotel is very small in comparison to surrounding hotels, it was clean, easy to access, and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Since it was an efficiency we utilized the cooking facilities and were pleased with the staff in accomodating our needs. Would definitely stay again!

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 8Good Bargain, But You Get What You Pay For!
I booked this hotel which was right on the oceanfront and the location was really wonderful - I could see and hear and smell the ocean from the small balcony! The layout of the hotel was a little strange - more like a motel because you entered your room from outside. As a single traveling woman, I wasn't crazy about that. Also, the "check in" office had a security buzzer and that kind of scared me, too! The location in Virginia Beach was fine, but I can't say that I felt totally safe. The room itself - well, it's a suite which was pretty nice. The bedroom was small and the two double beds essentially filled the entire room! There was an ironing board and an "in room" safe in the bedroom. No luggage rack, though. Good sized closet. There was a "regular" TV in the bedroom, as well as a flat screen TV in the "living room" part of the suite which was an open area with a breakfast bar (two stools) and a sink, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster. It was "furnished" with utensils, etc. but I would beware of relying completely on what they had stocked there if you are a serious cook! I read another review that talked about the fact that there is only one small sofa in the living room area - this is ridiculous! There should at least be one other chair so that more than two people could watch the television without having to sit on the floor or on a high kitchen conter stool - or worse, the small plastic chair from the balcony! The bathroom was fine, nothing fancy. All in all, it was a good bargain for the price -and it is right on the oceanfront. It did have a feeling that perhaps a bunch of people would rent it and it was "party central" - the second lock on the door didn't work and there was evidence of some heavy "use" throughout. It's not a luxury place, just so you know. The balcony overlooks the boardwalk and that proved to be a lot of fun. Given the outrageous prices of some of the other hotels on the "strip," this was really fairly nice for the price. If yo
