Hotel was "acceptable" base at rate paid during peak of tourist season. Wireless internet service available on first floor only for a daily fee.

Good value

Everything was at least adequate and at best excellent.

Better Than Expected

We were only here for a quick weekend trip and it was great! Location was perfect. Toward the north end of the strip so not as crowded but still plenty to do within walking distance. Our room looked right on the beach and we enjoyed it being on the second floor so could easily take the stairs and avoid the elevator. Parking was about a block away which was annoying but not that bad. Only complaint was that housekeeping waited until 3:00 to clean our room and then only vacuumed and made the bed. Sheets weren't changed, toilet paper and kleenex were left empty. Guess it was the end of her shift so she couldn't bother to actually clean. Call to front desk resolved the toilet paper and kleenex problem promptly though. Was not a big deal other than frustrated that the housekeeper took the tip we left and didn't do much cleaning.

Outstanding Hotel

My hotel stay was excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The ammenities are very nice and enjoyable and the staff at the pool area are also very nice and helpful. Also the hotel was close to many attractions that we also enjoyed. I appreciate all the generosity and kindness, it was So Nice!!!!!!!!! I will definitely be back next summer.

Great Hotel

Went to Myrtle Beach for a "girls" weekend. We didn't know what to expect as none of us had stayed at a Westgate before. The check in was a little strange, but the staff was very friendly and made the small wait enjoyable. The room had a great view, and we were upgraded to a room with 4 beds which gave us each our own bed! The hotel was within walking distance of attractions, and a short drive to shopping and shows.

Great Hotel

Our stay was excellent and I highly recommend this hotel. All the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. All attractions were close by and the ammenities were very nice. When I go back this is where I will stay. GREAT PLACE!!!!

Awesome hotel

Hotel had a lot of noise outside, but door to water blocked out all of it. Balcony was of decent size for 2 people to sit or group to stand. Comes with 2 chairs and small table. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!! Best for people who have cars to get to a variety of food, but can walk to amusement park across street or right down the block. Lazy river, kids play pool and adult pool (complete with pool bar)are all very clean. Would stay again!!

It was okay.....

This was a spare of the moment trip, so I booked this hotel a few hours before we got there. I got a discouted rate b/c I was only staying one night. The hotel has resort in the name, but it apparently an older resort. It could use a good scrubbing and maybe a coat of paint on the inside hallways, and maybe some vaccuming....Maybe just a whole UPgrade. And the beds weren't very comfy, and the shower was so small I had to shower sideways. On the good side, They have tons of events planned for the family durning the day, and an outside snack bar which was nice, and right on the beach! Overall, it was okay for a one night stay, but I wouldnt see myself paying alot to stay there for a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Place to stay for a fun vacation

From the second we got there to the time we were walking out the door they hotel staff was very friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay.... we did have to move rooms because the room we were first in didnt get good cell phone signal or internet connection...but once we moved we continued to have a great time

Great Hotel

We went for Labor Day weekend. Weather was Great.Hotel and staff were great. This was a spur of a moment vaction and we had a BLAST!

Better Than I Expected

I had read other hotel.com comments about the Westgate and was a little nervous about staying there. But I was pleased with what I found. I had a beautiful oceanfront room overlooking the pool. The furniture was a little outdated, but still nice, the elevators were a little slow but bearable. The cleaning staff did come every morning about 8 am. But they had no problem coming back later, there were no 'do not disturb' sign to put on door. My only complaint would be there was no table or chairs in the room. I did notice that the group I came with received more personal service than I did, but that was because they were doing the resort tour. Parking was bad due to the construction next door. Hopefully that will improve once construction is complete.
