We arrived about 10:30pm and there was not a valet available for about 20 minutes. The valet service was substandard but I will say the one person handling the valet did work extremely quickly & efficiently for one person. When leaving at 6:00 am there were cars parked in the valet parking in the front of the hotel and we had to load our cars in the street. The hotel advertised within walking distance of the French Quarter. Unless you consider over a mile walking distance, it is not. The pool is very, very small and rarely skimed for bugs. There were a lot of unsupervised teenagers that were noisy all night and calling rooms and hanging up at all hours. The room next to my sister-in-law had 1 adult with 8 kids. The fire alarm went off at 2:00 am one night. We all had to walk to the sidewalk to wait for the all clear. The strange thing is no firetrucks or police ever showed up. We were not allowed to use the stairs to get back to our rooms so the staff could count how many guests had evacuated. This fiasco was either orchastrated by the hotel or one of the many, many teenagers thought it would be funny to pull the fire alarm...but then where was the police? I met so many friendly people in New Orleans but not at this hotel. They would answer your questions but it seemed they answered grudgingly and never with a smile. I am pretty sure not one hotel staff person asked about our day, good morning or good evening. Come to think of it the only hotel staff I saw was checking in, the valet (I will give him good marks), and at 2:00 am and apparently this lady does not like to work the night shift...she was not nice at all! Last but not least the room rate printed online was single occupancy so an extra $20 was charged along with an extra $20 a night valet parking fee. Which made the hotel not quite such a good value.
