Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 105"Check-In Needs Improvement"
The only problem we had was at check-in, we waited over an hour and a half to be checked into the hotel. There was a billards tournament going on in the hotel the weekend we were there. I felt they could have had more people working at the check in desks or at least if the clerks were on break they should not have been just standing there watching the three or four clerks who were working while they were just standing around talking to each other as the line of people who needed to be checked in went all the way back to the entrance of the hotel. Otherwise our overall stay at the hotel was a good experience.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 105Long wait for check in
When we arrived to check into our hotel, there was a two hour wait, and then when I did get to the check in window the lady that was assisting me was not the friendliest of people. She was not nice and then went on to inform me that we were going to be charged an extra amount due to our children, that is ridiculous, when we pay for the room and it has two beds, I was also informed that I would be charged an extra fee of $3.95 per day. This should have been calculated into my room fee when I made my reservation. The room was old and the bathroom was quite small and needed to have some work done on it. I would never stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 105You get what you pay for . . .
The Riviera wasn't horrible . . . but it wasn't wonderful. What we were looking for was a fairly cheep 4 nights then to go to a nicer hotel for the last few . . . we stayed at Planet Hollywood for those. The tv at the Riviera had 5 channels, PH had every concievable channel, so . . . you get what you pay for. Overall it wasn't horrible, it was clean, and we had no major problems, but again, it wasn't the best place we've ever stayed. I will say one thing . . . The bed was THE MOST COMFORTABLE bed i've ever had in a hotel. so thats it!

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 105great room
I loved the bed. The bed was so comfortable. I stayed on a non- smoking room and I was surprise it did not smell like a smoking room.

Hotel was good for the price. Located at extreme end of strip so yyou have to travel to reach other casinos.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 105Good Deal for the Money
I have stayed at much nicer hotel with larger "suites". This definitely is not in the same league but the RENOVATED room was much better than expected. We decided to pay extra for the Renovated rooms. The Good: Check in on Friday night was quick, unlike what many other reviewers experienced. A staff helped my family of 4 separate parties get done in 5 minutes. They gave us connecting rooms like we requested. The rooms were clean, seemed modern, the bed and linen were very comfortable. A very nice comfortable sofa chair plus a separate chair and desk fit into our room. I could hear our neighbor in the hallway but barely heard them in the room. The Bad: the hotel felt "old". From the staff, to most of the guests, to the swimming pool. Popcorn ceilings should be outlawed, there was a little mold in our shower curtain, the AC/Heat unit was old school and a little noisy but worked well. Plumbing from above was a little noisy. Not the place to be if you want to gamble but great if you have kids since Circus Circus is across the street. All in all, the room really surpassed my expectations.
