Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 70A great stay
Hotel le Cantlie is quite nice. The hotel is at the foot of Mount Royal. It is just a block and a half or so away from a stop on the green line of the metro, which is four stops or so away from the main metro hub, Berri-UQAM. If you'll be staying in town for more than a few days, go to any metro stop and buy a week-long pass, which will get you on any metro or city bus. The hotel is rather nicely appointed. We loved having a kitchenette, which included a stove, oven, sink, microwave, and fridge. The maids even wash your dishes when they clean your room! There is a pool way up on the roof: the 28th floor, with a nice view of downtown. They have a free business center with three computers (which don't always work as one might hope, but that's a minor quibble). Also, they have a laundry room: two washers, two dryers, and a soap dispenser. You must pay for these DIY laundry services, but we much preferred to do our laundry in the evening at our own hotel rather than losing time during the day at a laundromat. Great experience overall!

On the fringe of downtown. Long walk to Old Montreal. Housekeeping wasn't the best.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 70Good Location and Nice Rooms
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in June. The concrete facade of the hotel is not impressive from the outside but the suites are roomy and very clean. Nice rooftop deck with pool and city views. Location is great for downtown shopping, access to Parc Mont-Royal (head straight up Rue Peel), and the metro station. The old port area of Montreal is about a 25-30 minute walk away. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

When we checked in we needed a HC room and they managed to upcharge us to get one. Then it was so smoke satiated they had to send machinery to ozinate the room. Helped a little but still a smoke-smelling room.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 70Outstanding Hotel
We are pleased that we chose to stay at this hotel. The staff was very professional and exceptionally helpful. The hotel is beginning to show it's age in some ways, but well maintained and very clean. We will stay here again when in Montreal.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 70A wonderful surprise!
Our stay at The Hotel Le Cantlie Suites was amazing! Everyone from the receptionist to the cleaners to the man who parked our car was very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. We booked our reservation not knowing very much about Montreal or the hotel and were very surprised by the service we got. As for specifics; there is underground parking owned by the hotel which was reasonably priced, the mattresses were pillow-top and very comfortable, the cleanliness was unbelievable and the service was unmatched. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice getaway to Montreal. Enjoy!

Comfy beds, kitchenettes, convenient location to shopping and restaurants, amiable and attentive staff. Would definitely stay here again. Great place for the money.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 70Good location at a fair price
This hotel was fairly priced for what we got. There were some negatives about the hotel: 1) we needed to extend our stay and were told by the hotel staff there was no way we would get that same low price we got the 1st time 2) I was a little nervous one of the days we were there a guy was in the lobby complaining that he was bitten by a bed bug... i saw the bite, couldn't tell if it was a bed bug bite or not (kinda leaning towards it was) but we did not seem to have this problem. Pros: really good location for seeing montreal; cheap price; comfy room for sleeping

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 70nice hotel for the money
Everything was as I expected. There is cheap parking in the area, never park in the hotel's lot. This hotel is usually inhabited by a lot of young party people so get ready for that if you're booking here. Overall I would stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 70Shower/tub problem
This is a great hotel, in a terrifric location, and the personnel are very helpful and guest-friendly. There were, however, two problems with the tub/shower. The water temperature in the shower was very difficult to control and was very variable. Plus, the tub drain required a pair of pliers to open.
