Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka

Great room, great location, great price

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days during a vacation in Tokyo. We got a great price, and our "Run of the House" room with 2 beds and a couch never felt cramped even when 4 or 5 of us were sitting around talking about what we were going to do that day. It was also nice that the room was equipped with a small refrigerator. The location was great, a short walk takes you to the streets of Akasaka where you can find convenience stores, restaurants (fast food and sit-down places), liquor stores, coffee shops, and even some bars. One of the best things about the location was the accessibility of the subway, which was also a very short walk away, as the subway was our primary means of transportation throughout the day. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. The hotel also had umbrellas that we were able to borrow and use which came in handy. All in all everything was satisfactory. The only negatives are as follows: 1)For this particular room we were only given one key, even though there were two of us occupying the 2 bed room, which was kind of inconvenient at times. 2)It seemed that the air conditioner for our room and our entire floor (31st) was broken. We didn't complain to the staff about it though, so I'm not sure what the problem was. 3)No free internet, and no wireless internet. Only a wired connection was available, and it seemed to work for only the one computer that we set it up on, not any computer that we connected. 4)TV only had around 8-10 channels, which were entertaining, but this seemed weird when the rest of the hotel was so nice. I wasn't there to stay cooped up inside watching TV anyway though, so it wasn't a big deal. Other than these negatives, our time at the hotel was very enjoyable. There was also a bus available to ride to the Narita airport for our trip home for a price, but it was worth it for the views of the city that you don't get while riding the subway. Outdated hotel that is extremely poor value for money

Location is mediocre, room was small for the money and obsolete, vod didn't work, neighbourhood is inconvenient, waste of money

Tatami-Japanese-styled room well-worth the money

We had 5 people in our Japanese-styled tatami rooms. The tatamis were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The only setback is if you want to take a nap or rest during the day, the tatamis are not available until bedtime at night.

Wonderful!

Wonderful hotel, wonderful location, wonderful staff. Efficiently run, exceptionally clean. Would definitely recommend
