I This hotel was superb. I will stay here next trip. The rooms with a nice central location,very pleasant accomodating staff and great fitness room, nice restaurant, small not convention like big hotel. I had never used hotel.com, but will use this web site in the future.

My new favorite Kenmore Square Hotel

As a Red Sox fan and the parent of a student at Boston University, I have made it my business to know Boston hotels, particularly in the Kenmore Square area. Although there are many fine establishments, the Hotel Commonwealth far exceeded my expectations during my first-ever stay. The genuine service-oriented staff was unbelievable flawless. Friendly and helpful in an engaging "Boston-flavored" way, while maintaining appropriate boundaries. The hotel itself is convenient and lovely. My room was larger than some apartments. Hotels in Boston can be expensive, the big chains are well-run and sometimes offer bargains BUT this place is a gem when priced competitively. None better.

Highly recommended

Very clean and very quiet. Stayed on 5th (top) floor with view of Fenway Park. Nice restaurant and bar attached (Esatern Standard). Great location next to Kenmore Station train stop. Easy walk to Fenway Park and shopping on Newbury. Will stay again on next to trip to Boston.

Great Stay

Great staff, excellent service for business travelers- wifi free and easily accessed, remote printing, late check-out. As long as the price is comparable to others with same amenities and location, I will always stay here.

worth the hefty piece of change

We generally stay a little lower down the price scale than the Commonwealth; now I know what we've been missing.

What a view!

Could see Fenway park from my room! The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. And you can't beat the location in Kenmore Square.

Nice hotel, clean room, excellent loation but ...

It would be nice to have complimentary tea and coffee in the room.

Perfect Night

We recently stayed for 1 night while attending a business event. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the venue being held just a few blocks away. From the moment we pulled up to the door the staff were exceedingly attentive. In a era where customer service is the exception vs. the rule, this hotel totally delivers. The doorman, who was not visible when we first pulled up to the curb, arrived within seconds apologizing for his delay. Check in was prompt and we were escorted to our room where the bellman hung our garment bags, turned on room lights and filled our ice bucket. The room was clean, spacious, perfectly decorated with a view of Fenway Park. Following our business event we dined at the hotel restaurant and received the same attentive service. We had a phenomenal meal and our server was amazing. Due to our late start we were the last to leave, but never felt rushed. This is now our new favorite Boston hotel and look forward to staying there again on future trips.

Great room......especially for the money!

Very convenient to food and shopping. Everyone at the hotel was beyond friendly and catered to anything we needed from information on the surrounding area to great places to eat etc. I am very pleased and have now found my hotel I will stay at everytime I visit Boston. The only thing I would make better if I could, would be the comfort of the bed. Maybe it was only the bed I had but was not as springy as I would have liked. Other than that, a great experience.
