Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 23Great Hotel with only 1 exception
Very close to trolley and very noisy. Expensive parking but understandable since it is down town.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 23"An Undiscovered Gem"
Since we did not make reservations directly with the hotel, we thought we would get "2nd class rooms". To our surprise, we had beautifully appointed rooms - quiet, large and immaculate. The staff members were some of the most courteous people that we have met in our extensive travels. I recommend this little "gem" of a hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of down town San Diego.

The room was spacious and comfortable. I didn't like the idea of vallet parking it was anoying having to call them everytime we wanted to go somewhere, but overall it was a nice stay. We were right next to an out door mall and plenty of great restaurants and shopping. I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 23Nice hotel
Except for the broken elevator one night (including the service elevator) and the young folks running up and down the stairway; and except for the non-functioning complimentary in-room wireless internet one night; and except for the non-functioning air conditioning one night - this was a very good hotel. I must've hit the perfect storm of things going wrong. The staff is very friendly and the location couldn't be better. Add to that the good deal I got on rates, and I'll definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 23Great place to stay in downtown San Diego
The area is a bit gritty with a Greyhound station across, but the hotel itself and rooms are beautiful.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 23Overall, I was satisfied
Nice hotel, great location. Only downside is the hotel seemingly does not have double-paned windows, so noise from traffic outside can be annoying. I didn't find the noise to be too bad though.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 23Great room for the money
When I booked the room, I thought I saw a blipp about two double beds. I immediately called hotel.com to confirm that two queen beds would be available. When Hotel.Com reservations called the Bristol hotel to confirm, they were told our room did indeed have two queen beds. Upon arrival we were told that there were no queen beds. They only had double beds or a king size bed. We were traveling with our ten year old daughter. My husband is 6'1" and was very uncomforatable with the small bed. Also the mattress was hard and in need of being replaced.

The location was within walking distance of the Gaslamp Quarter. We could also drive to Balboa park and the zoo within minutes. People were friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

During our stay a link developed in the air conditioning - this resulted in a small flood right in front of the bathroom door. The hotels solution was to offer towels to put on the floor. When we told them this was sufficient we were moved to another room - always fun in the middle of a stay - we were move in a room directly beneath the ballroom - where a wedding party was going on - so we had the pleasure of listening to music and dancing until past midnight - would have been fine if we were invited - but we weren't. In addition condiments to the coffee weren't replenished - while a small thing - don't we all like our morning coffee a certain way.
