Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 67Not What I Expected
I made a reservation for a room with a Queen bed for my anniversary. When I checked into the hotel they said there weren't any Queen beds left so we would have to stay in a room with two double beds. This was very dissatisfying. The clerk said they would give me a room on the highest floor available to make up for it. When we got into the room it was only on the 5th floor out of 9 floors. I thought the view might make up for it, but when I opened the curtains all I saw was the wall of another building and an ally. It was a nice hotel, but I was very disappointed. Also, parking was very expensive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 67Perfect getaway!
Moderately priced hotel with a very metropolitan, upscale feel. Professional and friendly staff. Beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable bed and beautiful view of San Diego Bay. We would definitely come back.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 67Great Hotel Experience
We loved our stay over the Labor Day Weekend at the Bristol. The hotel is quiet; all the other guests seemed nice and respectful. It was conveniently located to nightime restaurants in the GasLamp district (without being so close that the street noice becomes a problem when sleeping), it's close to Balboa Park museums, and a walk to the Embarcadero. We rented a car and made day trips to La Jolla, Del Mar, and Coronado island. The parking fee fairly increases the overal price of the hotel rate so be sure to factor that in if you rent or park your car. Overall it was a great and comfortable experience.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 67Pretty room
Service was excellent, room was updated and very nice. The only down side which came as an unwelcome surprise is parking at the hotel. We thought the valets were the only cost for parking. Pretty steep for the 2 nights we spent!

I went to San Diego in my vacation, and i chose to stay at Bristol hotel. The hotel is great, clean and very nice. But one thing, i don't really like was parking fee. It was 26 bucks a day for parking. However, staff were nice and helpful, and I had a good time at Bristol hotel with my family.

This hotel was very modern and quanit. The rooms were much larger than other boutique hotels in San Diego however they lacked some ammenities that could have made the stay a little better. BUT for the price I would stay there again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 67Bristol - Great place near Gaslamp
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Bristol in downtown San Diego earlier this week, and we had an awesome experience. To me, a good hotel experience is more than just giving someone a room and giving them maid service. It’s the people on the ground floor who make everything happen and your experience with them has an influence on your trip as whole. That said, the staff at the San Diego Bristol were very friendly. The valet personnel were friendly and prompt, and greeted us with respect and courtesy. The restaurant staff were professional and nice to us when we came down to eat breakfast on the 27th. In particular, I would like to single out the front manager, who was there to greet us, offered to hold our luggage when we arrived an hour too early, and even arranged to give us a better and bigger room. Her positive attitude and demeanor meant a lot to us, especially after driving nearly seven hours from Fresno just to come to San Diego to see the sights of Gaslamp and Sea World. The hotel was finely run and we hope they continue to run it as it was shown to us from July 26th to July 29th. I look forward to staying at the Bristol in the future if what I saw during my stay is what I will see in the future.

I loved it. They even give free apples in the lobby. The computer with internet access came in handy as well. Good time.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 67Good Hotel except for Internet
The hotel was nice, the bed very comfortable and the room nice and quite, if it wasn't for the internet NOT working I would have rated this hotel as VERY good. I did request at the desk several times about the internet, but it was never fixed during my stay. I can highly recommend this hotel if you don't need the internet or they fix it.

Boutique hotel within walking distance of the Gaslamp. Comfy bed, nice robes, and clean bathroom. No elevator problems to report. Free wifi is a nice touch.

The Bristol was a very nice hotel with an outstanding staff. The front desk agents couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier with us. It is within walking distance of the seaport and cruise terminals. I would stay there again if I was in San Diego.
