Maui Seaside Hotel

Great location, but need improvement in everything else

We stayed here for 2 nights in late October. We chose it because of its location and price, but we wouldn't make the same choice if we knew what we were getting into. Pros: great location. Close to the airport, central, right next to a park and has water view; Cons: room is old. Bathroom smells. Beds are uncomfortable. Everything is extra: you pay for Internet, breakfast and even parking ($5 per day)

Cheap place, fine for the money

To sum it up, you get what you pay for. The rooms are outdated, but clean. We only stayed two nights, the only complaint I had was that our room was a little stuffy and the AC was a small unit for the size of the room and it never really cooled off. But overall, it was a fine place for the price. We took a dip in the pool and it was clean. The hotel staff were great. We checked out on time but left our bags in a locked room by the front desk all day until our late flight.

Very dirty hotel

The hotel was very dirty and the room had a strong smell of urine..a very very strong odor of urine...not a good hotel for the money

location, location

Seaside was great location close to the airport for 2 nights before meeting up with friends at the airport to go to our condo on West Maui. We were able to walk to shopping center just up the street and the Maui Art and Cultural Center. At the Queen Kaahameha (spelling?) shopping center we took the local bus to Paia and to Wailulu to explore--it was free!

Just okay

Unfortunately, we found the hotel musty and stinky. The location is very convenient, but that's the best thing to say. Definitely Not recommended, unless there is no other option available.

needs improvement

The Staff is great as always. The rooms are clean and housekeeping is friendly and helpful also. Except that the hotel is in need of improvement and updating. Where our room was (#3034), which is on the third floor all the way to the end of the hallway, which is at the end of two wings... it was difficult especially if you have alot to carry. It's just out of the way period and only one elevator, which is at the opposite end of our room. I wouldn't be bad at all if there was a elevator in the middle. This is the only hotel that i've ever stayed at for as long as I can remember, so I kind of knew what to expect. Though I didn't know that it would need this much improvement, beint that we haven't been there in about 10yrs. The grounds are just beautiful. The breeze coming off of the ocean is wonderful, cool and relaxing. Not to mention the location is great too. Everything in walking distance. Oh, and the pool closes at 6pm, because there are not lights. That sucked!
