Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 32Needs a little improvement
This hotel is ok if you're staying for just a few days. They need to change the carpet so that the room don't smell so moldy. They also need to change from the old style door knob with the huge key to the new style door handle with the card key. Other than that, I have no complaints.

for the price, the quality of hotel was not good. there were ants all over the room. lots of restrictions-pool closed so early you couldn't even enjoy it. there was a bad urine smell in the room. i will never stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 32Good room for the money
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Older hotel but very clean. Nice pool and harbor front. Good for 1 or 2 night stays, close to the airport.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 32Great room for the money.
My sons and myself had a great and relaxing stay at the Maui Seaside Hotel. To be honest, the hotel gave us everything we needed. 1. A place to rest and recoup. 2. Close to malls, restaurants, city parks, beaches, airport, etc. I for one will always want to stay there when we travel to Maui.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 32Convenient location of hotel, ok rooms, so so value for over night stay only.
Very good locaiton ( close to airport, city ) so good location if you fly in night or leave in the morning. If you pay little ($30) more you can find many better hotels with little more drive. Ok location for over night stays. Rooms was big, clean but old with not much light.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 32Quaint Room at Budget Price
The hotel has that quaint 1950s, authentic Hawaii feel to it, and the staff was friendly. The rooms are by no means deluxe - but for a budget priced hotel I think it was fine. Just remember you are there for the whole island and Hawaiian experience in general - and certainly not for any 'pampering' in your hotel room. Get out, go, see and do, and you'll be so tired when you return to your hotel that you won't miss any posh amenities.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 32Late Island Arrival
I wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews. We had a late flight from the mainland and could not check into our accomodations until the next day. There are few accomodation near the airport that will accept a one night only weekend stay, and this was the only one. They were very accomodating when we requested to change rooms as a party was going on next to our assigned room (I can appreciate a party, but not after I've been on an airplane longer than necessary). Also they accomodated us with a late check out (3pm). The place is old and has not been updated, which is such a shame, as it could be a spectacular place. But, if you get the going rate, why make changes? The room was not very clean, and the beds not very comfortable. The small frige didn't work and the view was of the apartments across the way. The great thing was the pool and the grounds around the pool. You could watch the ocean while swimming or lazying around the pool. Also, we had a great breakfast at their restaurant and considered eating there again. The waitstaff was exceptionally helpful. The best thing about staying here is that we didn't have to drive further in the dark, tired and not familiar with the area.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 32If you have to stay in Kahului...
Compared to West and East Maui, there is nothing much going on in the Kahului area other than proximity to the airport. We stayed here the night we landed in the Maui and the night before we took off. It looks like only the 3 storey building is renovated. The first night, we stayed in a very old room, pop corn ceiling, old bed... pretty crappy smelling. The last night we got a room on the third floor and what a surprise!! The room was clean, bigger very new looking. Our review is for the last night only. Recommend to specifically ask for a third floor or renovated room if you plan to stay here long.
