Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 27Very nice stay in OBX
Very good hotel, but would not expect less for the price. Direct access to the beach where chairs and umbrellas are provided was a nice feature.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 27Great hotel, needs to advertise more!
The hotel was amazing, we were only disappointed that we didn't know about the two outdoor hot tubs until we were checking out. We were only told that the pool closes at 7pm. Thats only for the indoor pool. The outdoor hot tubs that close at 10pm would have been great to know about.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 27A great visit
We spent one night at the Sandling Resort. Our room was in the North Building and we were very pleased. The room was lovely and comfortable. It was very clean and there was even a welcome gift waiting for us. In the morning there was tea and coffee in the lobby. We could only stay one night and were not able to take advantage of the indoor pool located in another building, but I did go to see it and it was very nice. We would like to go back and visit again one day for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 27Pricy and below expectations for the service received
Hotel staff seemed to be a bit conceeded when questions were asked about billing, costs of services, etc.. Hot water ran out within first 5 minutes of being turned on and hours about pool and hot tub were unclear. Also a wedding was going on when we arrived and crowd was gathered in the hallway blocking guests from entering rooms. Also, noise from the reception across the street went into the late night hours. Hotel should have been more accomodating to other guests. Room was nice and television was adequate. Turn down service also added a nice touch. Improvement is needed if rates continue to stay high. Hotels.com rate was much better than hotel's own website. Location was a bit isolated, but provided a chance to get away from everything.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 27Good deal
Booking the Sanderling online was a good deal and saved us a lot of money from the rates they advertise on their own site. Our room was right off the lobby and across from restrooms, though, so we got a fair amount of noise. Overall, beautiful rooms and nice stay.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 27'Average Hotel at Expensive Price, Needs Improvement'
Hotel is in generally good shape. Physically hotel is located on two sides of main highway, not very convenient or luxurious in it's layout. Maid service was inconsistent and slow. Room condition was poor for expensive price (one lamp out, carpet stained), turn down service missed two nights, fancy restaurant was very expensive, items not available that appeared on menu. Grounds are in pretty good shape, with recent repairs showing on exterior wood walkways, pretty views, the only high end hotel in the Duck/Outer Banks area. Maybe a little more competition would make them try harder...

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 27Great Place to Stay, But Eat Elsewhere
We booked this hotel through you and paid you. The hotel also charged our credit card for the room. It took a while , but it did get rectified. We ate at the Life Saver restaraunt there and were very dissatisfied. One meal was unedible and was sent back. The other meal was just ok. The wine was very expensive and they only give you a 1/3 glass. Be smart and eat elsewhere. We did for the rest of our meals.
