Great room for the money

The free breakfast was very nice and just a short walk to the beach. We loved it.

Great beach location

Walk to Ft. Lauderdale beach, shops, restaurants. Hotel felt a little old and worn. Air conditioner was very loud. Good breakfast and great location.

Desent Hotel

The only negative thing about my stay was very noisy at night time and also on July 3, 2009 the fire alarms get coming on, and no direction or advicement of the situation. Other than that the stay was good. Complements goes to the lady assigned to my room very pleasant, friendly and accomodating and also the young lady that worked the breakfast buffet was a very hard worker at keeping the food stations replenished and in good standing. Great job to those two ladies! The front desk could learn something from these two ladies,friendliness goes a long way.

Watch for hidden fees and not clean

When I checked in I was surprised by a parking fee that was not mentioned when I priced out the hotel on hotels.com. The beds were very uncompfortable. If you have a bad back don't stay there. I expected more for the money. Our room was never vaccuumed, sand all over. The bath room was never cleaned during our 4 day stay and the they never replaced the toiletries and coffee supplies. There was mold between the bath tup and grout and the grout on the floor in the bath room was black in spots that were used most. The pool is old and tiles are chipped off. Save your money and find a better place.

A Good Choice

Clean, lots of amenities like full breakfast, free wifi, balcony, pool, bar, garage, microwave and refrigerator in room. HBO. Close to beach which was a plus. The room was nice, not great. Drawbacks: slow moving elevator, daily parking fee (only $5.00), older motel but seemed well maintained. Do not reserve if you like glitz and glamour.

Good hotel for the money

Our room, #520, has probably the best view of any in the hotel. We could see the beach and ocean, looking over the trees and between two buildings of the hotel next door. The beach was a short walk away and the area of shops, restaraunts, and bars along Ft. Lauderdale Beach was about a 20 minute walk away. The price we paid was very reasonable considering the loaction. Breakfast in the morning and the bar were good, but nothing outstanding. We would stay there again.

Overall excellent rating

I liked the accessibility to the beach, the pool, and the continental breakfast. Nothing to add- except perhaps a health club on site.

Not Bad

The hotel is not located on the beach as we believed. It was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The room needed updating and I did not feel safe with the door out to the balcony. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very helpful.

good deal

Great location- Hotel is almost 2-3 min walk from the Ft Lauderdale South beach, 15 min drive from the FLL airport and Hollywood Beach, 30 min drive from WannaDo City. 20-30 min walk from the Las Olas Blvd and 17th st (for shops and restaurants). The sundeck room on the 2nd level with a shared large terrace and lots of space to hang out with adequate chairs, tables, lounge chairs, umbrellas,.. that overlooks the pool and stairs to access the pool) was the best part for us and the kids. a very nice hot breakfast. very helpful staff but inconsistent/inaccurate knowledge of area attractions. Slow elevators. Stairs to entrance to hotel. Child safety concerns- Reclining infant chair available but no Highchair for toddlers for use in breakfast area. Hotel located at a very busy intersection. Lack of child safety gate at the top of stairs to access the pool from the sundeck. The sundeck railing was wide enough for our skinny toddler to stick his head or squeeze his body sideways through the slats.
