Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 27great location
if you are in boston to explore the city this is a great location. we walked EVERYWHERE. yes the room is tiny, but it has character and includes everything you need, if you just need a bed and a place to decompress before another adventure. The beds were not small like other reviews said. They advertised a full sized bed, i got a full sized bed that was clean and pretty comfy. the bfast in the morning is average and is open til 1030 which i liked as a late gogetter. Not sketchy, not dirty, not super frilly with pools and gyms, just a cool place in a great location.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 27Best Price for the location!!
The hotel is a block and half from Boston Common and The Public Garden and a half a block from the subway. You are located in the heart of the theater district and down the street from Beacon Hill. The rooms are very small. You really don't stay in the room only to sleep anyway so who cares!! Breakfast is OK. Fresh fruit, muffins and hot waffles to eat. Hot coffee, tea and juice to drink. A nice way to start the morning. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 27It was ok
The hotel was ok but I probably would not recommend it to friends and family. It is very small and very outdated. The floor in our room sloped. There is no counter space in the bathroom to put your items. We only had two people in our room with two double beds and felt very crowded. The hotel location is out of the way to the heart of Boston.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 27Great location, good for the money
Staying in Boston can come with a large price tag. If you are there to venture out, spend an afternoon in the commons or go by the harbour, even Beacon Hill, I would stay at the Milner. The rooms are a bit tight. If you want to stay in a larger room, you will pay double. For the traveler who will only use the room to sleep and shower, or maybe watch good morning america, this hotel will meet your needs. If you like to spend a lot of time in a hotel room or will have a very short stay, I recommend you stay in a different hotel with more amenities. There is no pool or gym here. They do offer a small continental breakfast where you can make your own waffles and such. You will get very acquainted with other guests as the space provided to eat is very NY style.(you sit really close to the next person)

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 27A place to stay
This hotel is very old and like many hotels in New York City for example the rooms are small. For people like myself that are just looking for a place to sleep and wash up it is perfect. We spend very little time in our room in anyways. The idea of going somewhere is to enjoy the place not the hotel. The location is close to the "T" (Subway) Theater District, China Town and the Historic area all on foot or "T". I read the some of the negative reviews and it is obvious the folks were looking for something the Milner is not. Nice people, different kind of place and a great area.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 27Great room for the money
The hotel room was very small but that is to be expected in somewhere like Boston. The location was absolutely fantastic, and it was within easy walking distance of the T. The only thing that was wrong was that I could never get the thermostat to work correctly, so my room was very muggy and stuffy and humid.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 27Not awful, not great, but cool location
Small room but that didn't really bother me. No smaller than your typical European room. But the bed was very uncomfortable (both hard as rock and so sloped that it was hard to keep from rolling onto the floor). Room itself could use some work (sink needed new grout, air conditioner old, etc). Still, friendly service, loved the location and the price was right.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 27Feels like home or a dorm
My Best Friend and I stayed for 2 nights at the Milner and we really had no compaints for what we paid. It was 3 blocks from the show that we were there to see and from Boston Commons. The neighborhood was very nice and Newbury Street was about 5 blocks away. Also, the staff was just wonderful!!! The only inconvience was trying to get up the stairs with luggage while trying to keep the front door open. Yes, the rooms are small, but the set up of our room was just fine... it totally reminded us of a dorm room. Oh, and breakfast was just enough food and there were healthy choices, too. I would definitely recommend The Milner to anyone on a budget and for anyone who doesn't think they are "too good" to stay in a less than 4-star hotel. Really, we just slept, showered, and got dressed there... it was Perfect for that!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 27Amazing location and affordable
I was somewhat worried what to expect after reading the reviews already posted. However, I was so pleased. The room was comfortable for two people and very clean. The staff was very nice and our check in/out took no time at all. Additionally, the staff was very helpful with directions to local attractions. The location was amazing! If you are planning on seeing a show in the theater district this is your best bet. Lastly, they offer a discount on the parking in a nearby garage which was very reasonable ($26) a day for Boston is cheap.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 27Great For The Money
I only stayed here one night because the hotel I wanted to stay at was booked. It was a small room, but I was only one person staying there. It was quaint and I loved it. Bathroom was a good size for being a small room. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The bed however was not comfortable. It was hard and lumpy. They could use a new one in that room (Room#101). There was a nice small breakfast included with the price. Overall, I would stay here again if my other hotel was booked. Great deal for a great price.
