Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 12Old world charm but at the expense of comfort.
My wife and I stayed one evening at the Milner. It was on our last night in Boston. The hotel has a certain charm and character to it. It feels very old world and you can imagine any number of exciting things having taken place there. However, the charm quickly gives way to the realization that the hotel is in need of some things. While our room was clean and a very nice note was left on our bed encouraging us to enjoy our stay, the room had a musty smell and was extremely small. The hotel is in need of some restoration as the original materials seem to be feeling their age. The desk receptionist(s) was pleasant and eager to answer any questions we had. There is an elevator and if you have to take luggage past the first floor I recommend you make use of it. The elevator is very small and the door is an older style that only opens half the width of the elevator making a tight fit with large luggage. The stairs are much to narrow to practically take any heavy item past the first flight. Again, a charming hotel that could be even better with some restoration.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 12Location is Perfect
The rooms at the Milner Hotel are a bit small, but they are very clean. The staff was incredibly gracious and extremely helpful. Crystal, at the front desk was a joy and made our stay that much more pleasant. She provided directions and site seeing recommendations even outside of the Boston area. We also enjoyed the complimentary daily breakfast that was served. The location in itself is worth the stay at Milner. It is within walking distance to most everything in the city. It is close to restaurants, shopping, Boston Commons and, Fenway Park. Very minimal need, if at all for a rental car and or need for a cab, except to and from the airport. Milner will definitely be a hotel we will stay again.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 12Old world and cozy, great breakfast
The room was small but adequate for one night. Good location for sightseeing, theater, close to Commons. They could put in a new elevator and spruce up the rooms to brighten them. Also, the windows were small and dirty on the outside. Felt like I was in a 2** old European hotel. Price was right compared with other hotels in area.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 12Great location, superb breakfast, needs refurbishments to improve space
This is reasonable value for money. Great location, be careful, some rooms are very small. Friendly staff and generous breakfast.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 12Perfect location, quaint Boston experience
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the Milner hotel. It was in a great location for the areas of Boston that we wanted to see. About 1 mile from Fenway, about 1 mile from the North End, and a block away from Boston Common. The rooms of course are smaller than standard rooms of newer hotels but it was perfect for us. We had the luck of staying in a room with an emergency exit so the bathroom was slightly bigger. The continental breakfast was great too. I do recommend though that you get to breakfast early. Since it is an older hotel, the breakfast area is small with limited seating. If you're driving or renting a car, I recommend parking at the Boston Common parking deck. It was $12 or so and we ended up paying $40 in a closer parking deck. All in all a great hotel and great location!!

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 12okay stay.
Hotel staff was very helpful with all direction issues. Hotel location was great. Rooms were very small and beds were slightly firm/springy/uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay-small room to serve in and not enough chairs/tables to sit and eat. If money was an issue, I would probably stay here agian because of the great location, but if I could afford to stay somewhere else, I probably would.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 12Geat location & service personnel
First time in Boston, we were wary of low price and great location, but found the Milner to be a pleasant and positive surprise. Yes, it is small, but it is all we needed:location, price, convenient, great desk personnel. We will stay there again if we return to Beantown.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 12Good place to sleep
If you are in town to see the town, and will not be spending very much time in the room, then this place is OK. Much less expensive than any big hotels nearby. But if you want a room with some room, this is not the place for you. Breakfast area can be crowded. Continental breakfast is just that.
