perfect location & value

First of all, loved the fact that they didnt "sock-it-to-you" on the parking-got the package with off-site parking but since it was raining when I arrived upgraded to valet with in/out privleges for a few bucks more. The staff was great! Coffee and cookies available all day & nite long in lobby was nice touch. Was close to all my favorite restaurants & transportation options.(right on cable car route) Rooms a bit small but very comfortable. Our 2 twin room had a walk-in closet so that worked great! Would stay here again without hesitation.

Very Nice Smaller Hotel

The Chancellor Hotel is charming with very friendly staff for the most part. Excellent pricing which includes parking just around the corner. Room service is pricey. Disappointed that the front desk personnel had no knowledge of local theaters. Also, the gift shop attendant was less than helpful when requesting a newspaper.

Good price for great location

Got an affordable rate that included parking a block away, which is a premium in the area. Hotel is in a great location on Union Square, staff was very helpful, and we received coupons for the in-hotel bar and restaurant, as well as the local Macy's. Only downfall is the lack of A/C, but it's rarely needed in SF. Room was not big, but it was big enough.

Great value

The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was located on Powell Street where you could walk to many of San Francisco's attractions or you could hop on the Cable Car which runs in front of the hotel. The staff was outstanding. They met all our needs and seemed to enjoy doing it.

One stop shop; all you'll ever need

The Hotel was outstanding! Clean nice room directly on Union Square. The staff was very friendly and helpful. we were able to book trips, buy transit passes and maps and obtain all the information we needed for our 4 day stay in San Fransisco. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great room for the money

I was very happy with this hotel and it exceeded my expectations. The location was excellent being 1/2 block away from Union Square and all the shopping. The restaurant served an excellent breakfast. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Will stay again in September upon my return to San Francisco.

Excellent value and nice location

I have stayed in San Francisco many times in the past and this was by far the best value for the money. It was a very nice room--a comparable room is usually double the price I paid. The location could not have been better.

Wonderful Hotel, Excellent Price

I am a very picky person, and this hotel and the price exceeded my expectations! The room was clean and recently remodeled. The bathroom had a hair dryer, the bedroom had a flat panel new TV. You can not beat the central location right on the cable car line, and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel for business or personal travel

Couldn't ask for better location!

The location is great-steps away from public transportation. The off-site parking garage was not a problem at all. The hotel itself is so charming & the staff was helpful in every way. (Let's not forget the yummy cookies in the lobby!) The ONLY thing I might mention is this: the rooms and the bathrooms are small & tightly packaged: OK for most people but something to take into consideration for those with mobilty problems. As much as we would like to stay again-we would not be able to because of this.

Wonderful Hotel, great price, friendly staff

I book this hotel by reading reviews and the great price I got through HOtels.com. It is small, but for two people you couldn't ask for better hotel. It was centrally located to Union Square. Try the Sears restaurant for dinner, breakfast is great at the Chancellor. Staff is friendly and helpful. Take the Bart from the airport to the Hotel. $8 one way. The hotel can arrange transportation through a shuttle service for the return only $14 per person. We arrived early a.m. and the hotel staff accomodated with a room even though check in isn't until 3 p.m. Area is safe we walked back late at night from the Powell Bart Station which is located only three block away. Thanks Chancellor Hotel for making our stay a great one.
