Nice room for the money

The room was adequate for for a short stay. For the price we got what you would expect. I would stay there again if I were in the area. It is next to the Wright Brothers National Memorial. If you are going for the beach experience this may not be for you.

A lovely place to lay your head

We only needed a place to stay for a night to attend a friend's wedding in the area. Although we weren't sure how convenient the location would be to the places we needed to go, the Travelodge was located right on "beach road," which is the main drag in Kill Devil Hills. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating and our room was clean. We enjoyed the view of the pool and went for a quick dip during our brief stay. I guess due to the pools location by trees, it was a bit dirty (it could have used a good skimming), but beyond that, everything seemed in order. I was very impressed with how friendly the staff was the morning we left. The woman who was replenishing the continental breakfast smiled and greeted everyone and made sure that the supply of bagels and fruit stayed full.

Great location

For any aeronautical nut that has a desire to visit the location of the first flight, you can't ask for a better location or hotel to stay in. Your basically half way between the Wright Brothers National Monument and the Atlantic Ocean with easy access to both. It was a great visit.

Good room for the money at the beach

This hotel is obviously older. The rooms were small, but clean. My main complaint about our room was that the AC unit was too close to the bed, and when it came on, the air blew right on you in bed. Otherwise, the room had a microwave and 'fridge that we were not expecting. The continental breakfast consisted of: cereal, milk, toast, donuts, apples, coffee/tea, & bagels. The staff was very nice and helpful. There was free WIFI. The pool view from the room was very pretty. The pool & patio area was very nice. A short walk across the street to the beach.

Good room for the money

Room was ocean view. Had a problem with the beds which was fixed the next morning. Staff was very helpful with suggestions for meals, etc. Would stay there again.

Great Get Away

With very short notice, I found this little gem. It was perfect for the two nights we stayed in Kill Devil Hills. The complementary breakfast was plentiful and surprising tasty. Very convienent to great eating places, shopping, and sight seeing.

Great Room for the money

This hotel exceeded our expectations. All of the personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. The room, was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. There was no noise issue and beach access was convenient. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Great Location

We booked a weekend here for a Jack and Jill party. It is right off of the main highway in OBX and there are enough shops in the area as well as restaurants. You need to cross the side street to get to the beach. Try to request not to have a room by the pool. A little noisy.

Great Room for Money

This is a typical beach hotel. Could have been cleaner; bathroom floor was gritty; sandy. The location is fantastic. It's across the street from the beach and directly across from the Wright Bros. Memorial. Decent breakfast. Nice pool. I'd stay again.

Great Value

We chose a pet friendly room and we have a huge Saint Bernard. We felt welcome the entire time, the pet rooms didn't smell any different than any other room but the room was a little too small for 2 double beds, other furniture 2 people, and our dog. Breakfast wasn't a deluxe as described, just a regular continental, but it was something. Location is great right across the street from the beach and the pool looks really nice. They even have a jar of doggie biscuits at the front desk to welcome you! Night staff was helpful with information.
