I'm sure there are much fancier hotels around, but you won't be able to find one with a decent rate and FREE parking! (That's at least a $50 per day savings!)You're in Chicago - there's too much to do...you're not planning to be in your room all day right? Room is big, plenty of walking space - I had 2 queens, desk, chair, and a sectioned area w/two chaise and table. Bathroom was decent size. My room was clean, plenty of towels and pillows. There was a LCD TV, working hair dryer, iron & board. It's conveniently located on State St. - 15 min drive to downtown, a little over a block away from Chinatown, near I90/94 entry. It's in a quiet neighborhood. Out of the 3 nights I was there, an ambulance was probably the only loud traffic noise I heard. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to friends.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 3 de 17Bus stop out front makes this a great option
for the money we spent on this room it was a great option for Chicago. there's a bus line (which runs until 230am) that stops right out front of the hotel, so the fact that it's a bit out of the way in an area with not much else is easily forgotten.

This hotel is convenient to downtown area where we were going to see Oprah. The staff was very very helpful and nice. The hotel is older and not the cleanest place I have stayed. But, it was worth the price.

Hotel it self was nice, but the surrounding area was not. Just for my safety and comfort factor, we will pay more and stay more north.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 7 de 17Good Hotel at Great Price
The hotel was new so the outside and inside were very nice. The hotel room was spacious and comfortably accomidated my party of 4. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful and were courtious enough to move us to a bigger room after booking so we would be more comfortable. The beds in the rooms were very firm, so if you like a soft mattress that may be an issue. The only negative was the neighborhood is currently being reinvinted. So We did not walk to the El station and I would not recommend walking around in the evenings at this time. However the bus stop was right at the hotel and made getting around Chicago very easy and inexpensive! I would recommend this hotel just keeping in mind it's not in walking distance to downtown, but the price makes it worth it!

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 8 de 17Nice hotel, OK rooms, sketchy neighborhood
The hotel itself was nice and well-appointed. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were nice (big tubs were a plus). However, the rooms were somewhat sparse and the furnishings a little shabby. The surrounding neighborhood was sketchy (at best), but it was very easy to catch a cab and get anywhere quickly. In other words, we did not feel safe walking anywhere, but we didn't have to. It met our needs in terms of being a basic hotel and close to Soldier Field.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 10 de 17chicago south loop
this hotel is cheap. there is a reason though. although the name would suggest that the hotel is near the "south loop", which is pretty close to downtown, it is more closely associated with the south side. if you plan on using public transit it will take you 20-30 minutes to get to places like millenium square and 45-1hr to get to places like lakeview and wrigleyville. it took us 4 hours to go to a restaurant and return to our hotel. on the good side it was clean and cheap. it's also very close to chinatown. the hotel staff are a little ghetto and don't expect any ammenities.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 11 de 17New, Attractive, Bargain
Chicago South Loop Hotel is beautiful. A lot of attention was given to the building. However, they need to study hotel chains and provide amenities- coffee pots, small frigs, microwaves. The rooms are very roomy and comfortable. Rooms could use more decorations and attention to detail- removing over-paint. Bottom line, it's a bargain.

When making my reservation I asked if this hotel had a free breakfast. The hotel.com operator contacted the hotel and was told that there was a free breakfast. On arrival at the hotel I was told by the front desk staff that there is NO free breakfast, but that I could buy a meal in the coffe shop on site. The next morning I noticed a sign in the coffee shop offering a free breakfast!! I asked the best way to get to my destination in the morning and wss told that the only way was to take a cab. As I left the desk I saw some other guests returning to the hotel from a bus sto across the street. That bus took me straight to my destination and back to the hotel! There is no coffee pot in the room but one will be provided if requested. The coffe pot that arrived at my room had to be baby-sat to get it to work. Since my experience with the front desk had been so negative so far, I decided to baby sit instead of ask for a new coffee pot. I tried to call out for a pizza delivery and couldn't get out. I called the front desk for help and was told "Well, I don't know what's up with that. Use your cell phone."! At check out I found out that there is a charge for local calls!! While the hotel itself was comfortable, I will not stay there again because the staff obviously doesn't want to be bothered by guests!!

It was a little bit in the ghetto, but honestly it wasn't that bad of an area. Free parking was great and the room was quite comfortable. Amazing deal for the money. Sweet view of the City to the north too.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 15 de 17Exactly what we were looking for
Weren't sure what part of town we were headed, but it was perfect for Soldier Field location. There were a couple familiy reunions going on and a wedding so it was pretty busy that weekend, but they still managed to make us feel important too.
