Description
See more detailsLocation. The Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club is perched on cliffs overlooking sugary white-sand beaches on 350 acres of the western tip of the island of Curacao. A natural coral reef just off the beach is ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. The Boka Tabla, the largest of clusters of limestone grottos carved by the sea, is four kilometers from the resort. Daily complimentary shuttle service is provided to downtown Willemstad and the Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino, the resort's partner property, located 32 kilometers away.
Resort Features. The resort features a two-story open-air restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. An open-air poolside lounge and restaurant with a conical thatched roof and big-screen television offers additional seating at umbrella tables on a sea-view terrace, with live entertainment on select evenings. For beachcombers, a tiki bar and grill is located on the beach. The freeform outdoor pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and thatched shades. Grounds at the Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club feature a secluded Japanese garden, flowering bushes, native trees, cactus gardens, and tamarind and breadfruit trees.
The property offers a fitness center, tennis court, hiking and biking trails, and bike rentals. Snorkeling gear, kayaks, pedal boats and small sailboats are available at the resort. An independent dive shop at the property offers scuba and snorkeling excursions, and scuba instruction/certification. A business center, and convenience store and gift shop are on site.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms and suites at the Lodge Kura Hulanda are located in two-story pastel-colored buildings on rugged cliffs between eight and nine meters high. All units offer furnished balconies or patios with views of the gardens or the Caribbean Sea. The tropically inspired décor features tile flooring and light rattan furnishings with brightly colored cushions. Beds are dressed with 300-thread count Egyptian cotton linens are comforters. Accommodations are equipped with entertainment systems with cable television and DVD players, complimentary high-speed Internet access and in-room safes. The units offer remote-control air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Expert Tip. The Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino's 65 buildings comprise the Museum Kura Hulanda's largest exhibit, a collection of 18th- and 19th-century Dutch colonial architecture. This historic district is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
