Disney's Old Key West Resort

Location. Disney's Old Key West Resort is surrounded by tropical flora and meandering waterways in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Complimentary water launches transport passengers to the Downtown Disney area, located one mile away.

Hotel Features. Disney's Old Key West Resort is reminiscent of a turn-of-the-20th-century Key West town. The wood-floored lobby is decorated with tropical images, models of seafaring vessels and fishing tackle. The lobby's library is stocked with first edition books. Olivia's Café prepares American fare and regional specialties. Good's Food to Go is an all-day, quick-service food outlet. The Turtle Shack prepares poolside fare, and The Gurgling Suitcase bar is located near the main pool. Five outdoor pools, including a separate children's pool, are bordered by playgrounds and spa tubs. A complimentary, limited-hour fitness center contains weight-training machines, television-mounted cardiovascular equipment, and free weights. Canoes, and pontoon, canopy and pedal-boats can be rented at the marina. Land-based activities include bicycling, shuffleboard, tennis, basketball and volleyball.

Guestrooms. Two- and three-story Old Key West-style buildings house 761 smoke-free guestrooms. Décor includes tropically inspired, light-toned oak furnishings and shuttered windows. Beds feature wrought-iron headboards and are dressed with 250-thread count sheets and floral bedspreads. Studios offer kitchenettes, while one- and two-bedroom villas feature full kitchens, and washers and dryers. All accommodations extend onto porches or balconies with views of the waterways or gardens. Laptop-compatible, in-room safes are complimentary. High-speed Internet access is available for a fee.

Expert Tip. The Gurgling Suitcase represents an authentic Old Key West bar. The bar's colorful name refers to the practice of smuggling Caribbean liquor into Old Key West ports in suitcases. The sloshing sound made by the liquor-packed suitcases was referred to as "gurgling."

Disney's Magical Express:

Guests of the resort are eligible for complimentary Disney's Magical Express Service. Motor coaches take guests from Orlando International Airport to the resort hotel. Disney picks up and delivers guests' luggage to their selected accommodations (for arrivals between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.). Guests arriving outside of these hours should pick up their baggage at baggage claim to carry with them on the motor coach.
