Felt like going back in time to the days the Rat Pack were in Palm Springs. Staff was wonderful..it's an easy walk to the shops and restaurants on Palm Canyon. The restaurant/bar is a great find even if not staying at the hotel. Very private and special spot.

We checked in about 6 p.m. on a Friday evening. We dropped our bags in the room (which was beautiful) and went to dinner. We returned late and exhausted from our long day of work and travel, finally got to bed. One side of the bed was literally leaning. It wasn't something that you noticed just looking at the bed with all the linens and pillows on it but when you actually went to lie down to go to sleep - no way. You would have had an easier time sleeping on a roof! So we called the desk and explained the problem. They told us that they had no other rooms available but my husband was firm and they relented and moved us to a "larger and better" room. We had to get dressed and re-pack everything quite late at night and then move to the other room, unpack & get re-settled in. I found the "larger and better" room not at all larger and certainly not better - it was actually smaller and it had a fireplace which we didn't even use but that must be why it was better? The layout was not as nice as the original room. A member of housekeeping came down to give us the new room keys and take our old keys and while she waited for us to move our things, she told us that she had requested maintenance on the bed in our original room over a month ago and nothing had been done about it. She said others had complained also. That really made us angry. They knew about it at 6 pm when we checked in yet still gave us that room! We never received an apology (or anything) at all. We thought that was very disappointing. They could have made the situation okay with a simple apology (maybe a complimentary drink or something?) but they never acknowledged the incident in any way. We were there two nights. Moral of the story: Always lie on the bed as soon as you get into a room - even if it's a 4 or 5 store resort!
