    This B&B is perfect. Short (four block) walk to the ferry station, get on the (free!) boat, and in 20 minutes you'll be on Manhattan after a wonderful tour of the harbor. [Downhill outbound becomes uphill on the return, tho, so brace yourself at the end of a tiring day.] The proprietor Paul was very nice and accommodating, and keeps a neat place filled with his and others' art. Continental breakfast very filling; sharing a bath on each floor not a problem. I guess you need to be used to European style travel, but if you are you'll love the convenience of not having to find parking in Midtown.

The Fort Place Bed & Breakfast is located in Staten Island, N.Y., two blocks from the Staten Island ferry to downtown Manhattan. The Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George, home of the minor league Staten Island Yankees and a popular venue for concerts, is also two blocks away. Stores and restaurants are within walking distance starting four blocks away. The Silver Lake Park and Silver Lake Golf Course are less than two miles from the bed and breakfast.

This 1864 Victorian home overlooks the historic neighborhood of St. George, the Verezzano Bridge and Manhattan. Continental breakfasts are available for a fee. Guest refrigerators are provided on each floor. Art Deco furnishings, fireplaces and artwork are showcased throughout the home. The inn offers a veranda and a common sitting room with a fireplace. Pets are not allowed at the property.

The Fort Place Bed & Breakfast offers five guestrooms. Two rooms feature private bathrooms, and the others offer shared bathrooms. The upper floor features a skylight bathroom and views of the Verezzano Bridge. The queen room offers a television.
