The Majestic Hotel

Location. The Majestic Hotel is located in Ocean Grove, N.J., on the first beach block less than one mile from Ocean Grove Beach. The Great Auditorium, which is a venue for chamber music, organ performances, and renowned preachers and evangelists, is one-quarter mile away.

Features. The Majestic Hotel, built in 1870 and renovated in 2000, offers views of the Atlantic Ocean from a second-floor balcony. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served daily, and are provided in-room in the low season. The hotel's restaurant, the Oceania Restaurant, is open to the public. The Majestic Hotel features a font porch for lounging and a surf shop selling water sports equipment. Discount beach passes and complimentary beach chairs and towels are available at the front desk. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. The Majestic Hotel's nine guestrooms feature kitchenettes with refrigerators, coffeemakers, glassware, crockery and cutlery. Complimentary wireless Internet access and two-line telephones are included. Select rooms offer views of the ocean and period antiques. Beds feature 350-thread count linens, and select rooms offer four- poster beds. Private bathrooms feature marble tile floors, and include showers and soaking tubs or jetted tubs. Terry-cloth bathrobes and complimentary toiletries are provided. All accommodations include cable television, VCRs with movie libraries, and stereo systems with MP3 capabilities.

Expert Tip. Historical walking tours, which run approximately 90 minutes, are offered at the Historical Society Museum. Guests are presented with background information on the history of Ocean Grove, and then proceed to Auditorium Square, which includes the Great Auditorium, Tent Colony and Beersheba Well. The tour ends at the Jerusalem Model and Centennial Cottage.
