See more detailsLocation. The Stowehof Inn in Stowe, Vt., is nestled in the Green Mountain National Forest, which covers almost 400,000 acres of the Vermont landscape. Within three miles of the inn are the Stowe Country Club and Stowe Ski Resort.
Features. The Stowehof Inn stands proudly against the backdrop of the Green Mountains, and showcases a pointed roof and upper-level balconies. Complimentary country breakfasts are served daily in the dining room, and the inn contains a restaurant and traditional New England bar with selections of aged Scotch, local beers and a wine list with over 450 selections from France and the United States. A conference room is available for meetings. The inn boasts a fitness center with weight and cardiovascular equipment, a sauna, and indoor and outdoor pools. Two spa tubs are located just outside the common living room, which contains a sunken fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Mount Mansfield. Other activities available at the inn include sleigh rides, tennis lessons and clinics, and billiards.
Guestrooms European duvets and contrasting light and dark colors characterize the guestrooms at the Stowehof Inn. All accommodations include televisions and VCRs. Soft lighting and framed artwork complement the unique style of every unit. Premier Rooms and Classic Rooms feature separate dressing rooms and soft terry-cloth bathrobes. Select Premier Rooms feature vaulted ceilings, large sliding glass doors, canopy beds and fireplaces. Traditional Rooms feature décor traditionally found in Alpine inns, with some providing views of the surrounding area.
Expert Tip. The Stowehof Inn was the location for the filming of "The Four Seasons" starring Alan Alda and Carol Burnett in 1981.
