    Dissappointed with condition of the bathroom with them advertising the "newest hotel in Chesapeake". Shower enclosure had a big crack in it as though someone had punched it or pushed way too hard on it. The tub itself was clean but because of the texture of the tub was nasty looking with dirt in the pores of it.

Location. The Springhill Suites by Marriott Chesapeake (Va.) is just off Interstate 664 and seven miles from Portsmouth Naval Base and downtown Portsmouth. Downtown Norfolk and Norfolk Naval Base are 10 miles from the property, and the Chesapeake Convention Center is 15 miles away. The Newport News Williamsburg International Airport is 25 miles from the hotel.

Hotel Features. The all-suite Springhill Suites by Marriott Chesapeake features an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness equipment. Complimentary buffet breakfasts are served each morning, and complimentary newspapers and coffee are available in the lobby.

Guestrooms. The suites at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Chesapeake include refrigerators, microwave ovens and coffeemakers. Sofa beds are provided. Wireless Internet access is complimentary.

Expert Tip. To get an up-close view of Navy ships, take a cruise on a 19th-century Mississippi riverboat, the Carrie B, which picks up passengers at the Portsmouth North Landing Dock. Waving at the ship when the whistle blows is a sure bet not to miss the boat, as the Carrie B only docks if travelers are ready when the whistle blows.
