Hotel Features. William's Grant Inn is a five-bay Colonial Federal-style home featuring hand-painted decorations throughout the house. The front porch and back patio, complete with a fish pond, are popular places for guests to mingle and relax. Each morning the innkeepers offer a complimentary full breakfast consisting of fresh-baked muffins or scones and fresh fruit. Hot entrees include dishes such as blueberry pancakes or fresh spinach and mushroom omelets.
Guestrooms. Each of the eight restored guestrooms at the William's Grant Inn offer antique furnishings and hand-made oriental area rugs. Bathrobes are included in private bathrooms. Each room has its own coffeemaker. High-speed Internet access is included. Décor may include equestrian, Victorian, floral or nautical, and all rooms have fireplaces.
Expert Tip. Linden Place, just a one-half mile walk from the inn, is a magnificent 1810 estate where the elite of Rhode Island once entertained presidents and political leaders. The estate was even featured in the film The Great Gatsby with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. Guided tours of the estate are given Thursday - Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays (times subject to change).
