    As I understand it, this is a motel in transition. Under new management. They are trying to pull it together. Our room was comfortable and clean but the hotel had some plumbing problems. They have GREAT coffee available and a pleasant restaurant attached. One thing that I hope they fix soon is the rear door has no lock on it. Thus the "Doors are locked after midnight for your security" signs did not bring much comfort. Easy on and off from 89.

    The air condioner/heating unit wasn't working properly when on it would only work on high heat room temp got near 100 degrees couldn't sleep attempt to get motel to fix it failed, had to turn it off in 35degree weather. Mold mildew and leak stains in bath room.Rug needed vac. stains on sheets,questionable as to wether they had been changed When brought to managers attention little response

The Hilltop Inn in Montpelier is a great hotel located 38 miles from the Burlington Airport. This property is centrally located in the Barre-Berlin-Montpelier area, and it is convenient to shopping and dining. The Hilltop Inn has been awarded a Three-diamond rating by AAA, and it is easily accessible from I-89, off of exit 7. The Hilltop Inn offers some of the best rates for lodging in the area. It is only about fifteen minutes from the famous "Ben & Jerry's" factory and only three mile away from the State House.

The guest rooms are spacious and well equipped. Two double beds are standard and most (but not all) guest rooms are equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator. For dining, the hotel features an onsite restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Hilltop Inn is located in an area where snowmobiling is popular, and the hotel is on a vast trail system.
