See more detailsBuilt in 1990, with extensions added in 2002, the Castro Hotel is set in the resort town of Ammoudara, 300 metres from a sandy beach. The 60 guestrooms over four floors have simple white decor and functional furnishings and open onto balconies with sea views. All have satellite television, telephones, refrigerators and bathrooms with showers.
The hotel is set amid gardens, and features an outdoor pool complete with a sun terrace and a poolside bar serving refreshments and cocktails. The Maxim Restaurant serves Cretan and international dishes and is open daily for breakfast and dinner. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can look after valuables in the-safe deposit box. Motorists will find complimentary parking on site. The hotel is sited five kilometres from the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion Old Town.
