The Palms Hotel and Villas

My only complaint was the room was warm when we arrived but the maintenance personnel rectified the situation once we called. Also the huge room window near the road did not have a screen and was easily opened. My 3 year old son tried to open it as as our room was pretty high up that was dangerous.

We live in Miami and go to the Kissimmee/Orlando area about 4 times a year. I decided to stay in this Villa based on the previous good ratings given in the Hotels.com website. We checked in passed midnight and shortly after getting into the room we discovered a frog on the bathroom floor, a large cockroach on the outside of the kitchen cabinets and a line of ants on the kitchen wall. After contacting the front desk, they relocated us to another villa within the same building. We found another cockroach but we were very tired to relocate again. Needless to say we were always afraid more insects were going to make their way into our room. On the third day I asked to see the hotel room to relocate and the room looked somewhat better but not like others we have stayed in the area; we stayed four nights and nobody offered an apology for the problems we had. The only reason I did not leave this hotel to look for another accommodation was because they charged the entire stay beforehand. Apparently there was recently a change in ownership and painted the outside of the villas but the inside leaves you with a sour taste, the bathroom door did not even close completely and there was a gap between the door and the frame. The kitchen cabinets and the dish washer were falling apart. All in all, I will never stay at this hotel again and will not recommend it to anybody.
