According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical storm Gustav, downgraded from hurricane status as it crossed Haiti, is still on a projected path toward the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane watches are in effect for Cuba, Jamaica, and the Cayman islands, while tropical storm warnings and watches still exist in Haiti.
