Long Bay Beach Resort & Villas
The hotel for the most part was pretty good. The staff was friendly for the most part but nothing extraordinary. We booked a oceanfront hillside room and were upgraded to a junior jacuzzi suite. The view from the room was great and the location of the hotel is nice too, the beach is one of the prettiest beaches around for sure. It is pretty private and you won't see many people on the beach unlide Cane Garden Bay where it's alot more touristy and there are LOTS of people on the beach. The bad things about this hotel were the toilet paper was about the cheapest you could find and terribly rough (we went to the store and bought are own). Also, the kleenex's somehow were even rougher than the toilet paper. Luckily we didn't need kleenex. The other thing that is horrible here is the service at the restaurant. I must say the service in general in Tortola is terribly slow, we had a rental car so we ate at many places. However, our hotel seemed worse and I would not recommend the meal plan or all inclusive because the food is not that great either and it will cost you less to eat at other restaurants in the area and you can sample alot more that way. The rates for internet access are high as well at $3.75 for 5 minutes and there is a safe in the room but you have to rent "the lock" for $15. Why can't they just leave it in the room for free and let all guests use it?...More

Long Bay Beach Resort & Villas
Our stay at Long Bay Resort was excellent. Being greeted at Registration upon arrival with a cool beverage was a welcomed treat. The location is terrific, staff and service were fine. Unless you are a Marathon walker or hiker, you really need an auto for a few days to get around the island or go broke using taxi and tours. Once you settle in and get accustomed to "Island" time and way of life - it's relaxing and beautiful. Our unit was very nice. We feel we received good value staying at the Long Bay Resort, wish it had some organized activities (at pool or on grounds)during the day or night other than buffet meal themes. The Activities Office was helpful and accurate. As just about everything must be shipped in, be prepared to pay much higher than at home. Use the island local retailers and take the walk to nearby Smuggler's Cove. It's wonderful....More
