Holiday Inn San Juan
This was a real surprise. It looked good online, but was even better in person. Qlthough the surrounding neighborhood has some real shabby aspects to it, this hotel is clean, attractive, and comfortable. It has three good but comparatively pricey restaurants that are probably not good choices for people who like to get their food quickly. The pool is very nice and the kids' "spray park" looked like a lot of fun. We used the in-house car rental and it was very convenient. The only drawback was very slow front desk--took a long time for check-in and the operator never picked up when we dialed to request a wake-up call. Good local food very close by.
