Auckland City Hotel - Hobson Street
I sayed in the Auckland City Hotel and found the hotel to be modern, comfortable and within walking distance of quite a few attractions including Sky Tower. I found it very easy to get arround the city. It was also only a block away from the bus terminal so getting anywhere in the city was easy. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a renovated hotel, so the heat and a/c are in room units instead of a central unit, but I have found this to be common place in New Zealand. The one complaint, if there is one, is that when you leave the room all the power goes off in the room so your temperature devices that control go off as they are plugged in. So the room would get hot or cold depending on the outside temperature. I found it though to not be a big deal as I just left a window open and this kept it from being too stuffy inside. The cafe down stairs was good for breakfast and for light snacks/lunch but not really good for large meals, thought there are plenty of good resteraunts in the area. I really enjoyed myself, and I recommend this hotel to anyone....More

    James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor
We enjoyed the luxury of this hotel. The location was great for shopping and banking just outside the street doors. The elevators were a bit confusing to us and other guests, but once we figured out which ones to get on, it wasn't a problem. We enjoyed the wonderful evening buffets. Thanks, Hotel.com for this opportunity....More

    The Quadrant Hotel Auckland
The hotel was clean, in a good area and our room even had a washer/dryer. The only issue was with the staff. Upon arrival at 15:30 we were told that our room wasn't ready and that we would need to wait 10 minutes. 10 mintues turned into 30 and during this time four other guests checked in to their rooms while we were waiting. After 30 minuted I returned to the front desk where they had forgotten about us and they told us to wait another 15 minutes until our room was finally ready. No apologies were offered. We were satisfied with the hotel but not the staff....More
