    Best Western West Hotel
My room was slightly bigger than a closet with a single bed. It was clean, safe, and acceptible given how expensive is Oslo. The first night I checked in an incompetant employee was working the front desk, who told me I needed to print out my hotels.com receipt before I left. The next day, a more senior person was working, who was friendly and accomodating and mentioned nothing about needing a special validation from hotels.com. Breakfast was lovely and included. It's a poorly managed hotel, but it is cheap, so there in lies the compromise....More

    Thon Hotel Linne
I would stay at the Linne Hotel again. Norway, compared to other countries is extraordinarily expensive. There were great things about this hotel and things not so great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Spoke English fluently which I was grateful for. Room: Good size, very clean, VERY comfortable bed & pillow. I liked that you can open the windows overnight and they have a device so they will only open a little unless you release the catch (felt safe). The room had a mini-fridge but mine was not working. I mentioned it to the front desk staff but requested not to be disturbed so it was not fixed while I was there. Also, there were 2 lights out over the sink area of my bathroom so it was a little too dark. The lights and refridgerator should have been checked before the room was rented. I had brought my laptop with me and had access to the internet from my room utilizing their wireless broadband. This was great since I had to communicate with people back in the US and in Norway. However they also had a computer for use in the lobby. There was a basic tv that got all the usual stations and about 1/2 of the programs are American or British. The bathroom was very clean and the showerhead was powerful. Large mirror, but as mentioned a little dark due to the 2 lightbulbs being out. The complimentary breakfast had good variety. Location: Between a business area and residential area. There are 2 train stops, bus stops and a shopping center all within short walking distance. When I first arrived I took the bus from the airport to Linderud, crossed the street to the shopping center where there were taxis to take you wherever you want to go. I took one to Linne Hotel not knowing how far away or where the hotel was exactly. As it turned out I could have walked around to the backside of the shopping center and seen the hotel and that I could have walked the 2000 feet to the hotel, but after the flight was grateful for the ride. It cost $81 NOK for t...More
