    Hotel Arena
    We stayed in a standard room at Hotel Arena. It was very small; we were used to small rooms from staying in Europe, but this was extreme. There was only one working outlet and the bathroom was cramped. Still, the room was sufficient for our needs. It is a little out of the way, and not near any attractions, but there is a tram stop nearby which takes you into the city. There are a nightclub, bar and restaurant attached to the hotel which seemed to be the main focus--the hotel seemed like an afterthought, and with loud drunk people making noise all night, it felt like that too. Next time, I would shell out a little extra for a bigger room closer to the attractions....More

    Hotel de Filosoof
    Rooms were spacious for Amsterdam. Not next to the canals but close to museums like Van Gogh and Vondelpark. The #1 and #6 trams go right by the hotel. They serve breakfast but beware--it is very expensive for what you get....More
