    Hotel Strozzi Palace
    We stayed in this hotel one year ago and it was marvelous. This year, we ran into surly staff. No matter what we requested, their first response was, "No." We asked for a one hour extension to the check-out time and the woman practically barked at me. When I politely insisted that she ask the manager, she suddenly was empowered to decide on her own that the extension was okay. Florence was in the middle of a heat wave and the air conditioning and fan were turned off. The digital thermostat in the room read 25 degreed (80 degrees Fahrenheit). The only thing we could do was leave the unscreened windows open, which invited all the mosquitoes in. We will not return to this hotel....More

    Golden Tulip Ambra Palace
    We spent two nights at this hotel in March 2008. The hotel is quite clean, has a helpful English-speaking staff, and an ample full breakfast is included in the rate. It's location is about four blocks from the main action in Rome, but not in what I would consider any type of a dangerous area. You will have to walk a little bit to get to restaurants, etc. It is also an easy four block walk to the main Rome train station....More

    Roma Park
    Hotel is in a bad area of Rome. It does have good security - gates/cameras. Breakfast was OK. A/C would not cool the room down. Bathroom a little worn. The price was the least I could find. I should have paid more elsewhere. The staff was friendly and helpful however. If $$$ are extremely important then stay here, otherwise no....More
