    Clontarf Castle Hotel
If you've read my previous reviews, you'll know that my wife and I went for a quick weekend getaway in Dublin. I booked rooms at three different hotels to get a different picture of the city. This was our last stop and the hotel was chosen to get out of the city. It was the perfect place to end our vacation. The hotel is away from all the action (15-20 Euros from City Center) so don't plan on making this your headquarters if you are going to be in Dublin. At the same time if you want to disappear from the pubs and shops, this is a great place. The room was comfortable; not huge, but certainly not small. We stayed there on a Sunday night when the rate was roughly half the weekend rate; so it was a great value. Unless you have a car or want to take buses and taxis, once you get to the hotel you are there for good. There is not a lot to do right around the hotel. At the same time, the hotel is north of the city which means it is closer to the airport for an early departure. The castle portion was amazing. The rooms are actually in a building that is attached to the castle; so no, you are not actually staying inside a castle. We had a few drinks in one of the lounges and the prices were comparable to that of the pubs downtown. We also had dinner at the restaurant. It was a rather upscale place, but they did not seem to mind our casual/business-casual attire. The food was excellent, but you may want to plan on sharing....More

    The Fitzwilliam Hotel
Everything was within reach at this location - public transportation, sites, restaurants, a mall with a food court, 'Hop on - Hop Off' tour bus stop, tram - all within a short walking distance and even across the street. The room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. My son who is 20 made his way to the Temple Bar area at night where people his age go and he said he had a great time - again all within walking distance. For St. Patrick's day, the parade was very close. Also, the restaurant "Dandelions" is next door where they serve Irish Stew, Guinness Hot Pot etc. There is a good Indian Restaurant resonably priced called "Tandori" within a few blocks. I would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I've done alot of traveling and this is probably the first time that I picked a hotel that was in the perfect location and at a reasonable price....More

    Blooms Hotel
Blooms Hotel is exceptionally well-located in Dublin: just on the edge of Temple Bar (huge party district) and Trinity University. Easy walking to cathedrals and most major tourist attractions. The room size is more than adequate by European standards, but need some refreshment (new beds, bath tile, etc.). The included Irish breakfast is very good. Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights might be loud from outside/inside noise for light sleepers....More
