Hotel Vista Real Guatemala
They take such good care of each guest at the Vista you think you are the only guest. The service is amazing. The views are breath taking. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable; the beds in the grand suites are better than the master suites. They are accommodating to children. The decor is as good as it looks online. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I think because it is away from the downtown area it is not as popular, but it was my treasure to find. It is difficult to express how good staying at the Vista made our trip to Guatemala....More

Grand Tikal Futura Hotel
I was very surprised by the Grand Tikal Futura. Hotels.com has it rated at 3.5 stars, but I would say this is more like a 4 star maybe even a 5 star hotel. The lobby is spectacular and my room was very comfortable and clean. The employees go out of their way to serve you and have excellent attitudes. The hotel is attached to a large modern shopping mall. The biggest surprise was the food. It was spectacular. Guatemalan food is in some respects similar to Mexican food. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, beef fajitas, chicken tacos, sausage, refried beans, waffles, assorted fruits and fruit drinks. It was all superb. I felt very safe in the hotel and there were a number of Americans staying there. Thank you hotels.com for listing such a wonderful hotel....More
