Baron Heliopolis Hotel
If you miss your connecting flight and need accomodation close to the airport...maybe... but consider this: 1) The hotel is around 30 years old and have never seen an upgrade (It is clean though). 2) Staff English comunication skils are very limited ( a problem if you want to explain that you already paid for two rooms while checking out at 3:00a.m. in the morning and even the manager insist to charge your credit card again at the normal published rate) 3) There is only one floor with non smoking rooms, which is also close to the meeting rooms (Too noisy, parties every night until 1 or 2 a.m.) 4)The distance to downtown Cairo in a normal traffic day would take approx. 45 minutes, but the airport and most of the Government Offices are close by....More

We found the hotel to be comfortable, gardens lovely to walk around in & the pool area relaxing. Internet rates could be cheaper. The breakfast buffet had great choices & the other meals where also good....More

In the heart of Cairo... Choose the Nile view room, and a high floor... the "fallucas" (cruise boats on the Nile) are a pretty sight but their music blares loud! Staff is friendly and do remember to give frequent minor tips... it seems to be the local custom....More
