Grand Oasis Punta Cana All Inclusive
We had a GREAT time! the downfalls were that we could not fly into Punta Cana airport - without spending more than double the amount than we could if we flew to Santo Domingo. We flew to Santo Domingo and rented a car - it should have only taken 3-4 hours - it took us 7!! We spent 3 hours driving around looking for the hotel - it was very hard to find, and the hotel reception did not speak any English - thus we couldnt get directions.We ended up going to Punta Cana airport, and paying a taxi to lead us there! The other problem was that our rooms could use some updating - one room had no airconditioning and it took 4 phone calls to get someone to come and it still wasn't fixed. Other than that the rooms were HUGE with comfortable beds, clean, and lots of drawers and closet space. The maid service was excellent. Great activities all day long, in the pool, out of the pool, great activity leaders - we had so much fun with them! The pools were very clean. There is always food to eat - not the greatest - but I did not expect it to be all that great from this country. We were always able to find something we liked. This was a great all inclusive resort for the money we paid. Make sure you bring lots of dollar bills - we did not bring enough and it is impossible to get change in US dollars ANYWHERE. Once they have US Dollars, they will not part with them. We wanted to make sure we were able to tip well and sometimes had nothing less than a $20 bill on us. Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace All Inclusive
This hotel is dismal on service. The front desk reception was unfriendly, inefficient and did not give the necessary informtation on restaurants/activities, etc. Each day, the room was not cleaned until 5 or later in the afternoon which made it difficult to take showers at the end of the day with fresh towels. The grounds and the beach itself was nice. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone....More

HOTEL PALACIO
We stayed at Hotel Palacio for two nights last week and were certainly not disappointed. It is very romantic, beautiful and steeped in history. We recommend this hotel to everyone!! The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly, and the hotel is at a great location in the Santo Domingo's old City, where you are in walking distance to all historical sites. The pool on the roof and Gym seams to be brand new....More
